Ans.

Here, I am going to select mesozoic period to answer this question.

The fossils found here are largely related to the dinasaurs that lived in Jurassic period and also there were large number of pterosaurs, lots of flying reptiles. The marine environemnt was having lots of fishes and reptiles and hence they can be found among the fossils of Jurassic period.

Major rock types that belong to this period are of sedimentary type which are shale, clay and marl. there is also a large number of igneous rock which shows that there occurred volcanic eruptions also in those times.

If you talk about geologic conditions, the temperature on the earth was quite warm and the difference between and polar and equatorial latitude temperature was comparatively less. If you talk about geologic structure, Pangea started breaking up and the continents were getting their current positions.

The earth was full of reptiles and gymnosperms in this period but there also lived mammals and angiosperms, fishes and birds.

This period was so disturbing that the largest volcanic events known in the earth history occurred during this period. The pangea was moving apart which led to huge volcanic activities on continental margins and formed sea floor also.

I have taken some information from national geographic.

I hope the answer is clear to you, in case you have any query, please leave a comment, we will try our best to fix it. If you are satisfied with the answer, leave a thumbs up, your support is valuable. Thank You
