For this discussion, start by reviewing the different types of graphs and reflecting on their uses, advantages, and disadvantages. Then develop the main response in which you address the following:

Identify which type of graph you believe to be the most useful.

Summarize what it is commonly used for.

Describe its main advantages and disadvantages.

Solutions

Expert Solution

I believe Line Graphs to be most useful.

Common uses :- A line graph is commonly used to display change over time as a series of data points connected by straight line segments on two axes. The line graph therefore helps to determine the relationship between two sets of values, with one data set always being dependent on the other set.

Line graphs are useful in that they show data variables and trends very clearly and can help to make predictions about the results of data not yet recorded. They can also be used to display several dependent variables against one independent variable.

Advantages :- - effective when showing how things change over time (continuous data)
- you can estimate values between data points and extrapolate into the future
- they can be composite, showing changing totals as well as relative changes in component parts

Disadvantages :- - they cannot be used to show differences between different variables at a single place or time.
