Changes are in both, Information Technology (IT) and
business world:
In my personal opinion, most of the inventions, discoveries, and
innovations were made for ages, mostly for different purposes,
goals, and objectives, as we had different needs, personal and
business requirements, and rarely did something like this happened
by accident. Wanting to solve our different problems we had or what
we stumbled upon in our personal and business lives triggered for
new inventions, discoveries, and innovations bringing in changes
and advancements in IT and in turn, in the business world. Hence,
they both are interdependent, inspire each other, and thus also
influence each other.
However, the changes have occurred on both sides i.e., from IT and business world ways. The advancement of new technology has inspired changes in businesses in many different ways. Businesses have become more competitive, global, digital, virtual, demanding, seamless, easier, safer, secured, simpler, quicker, cheaper, efficient, effective, accurate, precise, consistent, error-free, productive, constructive, convenient, comfortable, reliable, available, accessible, and robust with the help of technology. Communication and collaboration between people and employees in businesses and prospective customers, clients, and end-users have become easier.
Yes, little can you say technology inspired the business change as technology has given marketing ideas for different businesses. From that sense, online business and e-commerce are a whole new idea to do business. The birth of this virtual marketplace or business would have been impossible, had there not any technology growth.
Changes in business requirements have inspired advancements in technologies. Technologies and businesses are constantly changing and evolving forever. Technologies decades ago defined manual types of businesses done in those days. However now, Personal Computers (PCs) automate business processes and workflows. An increasing number of businesses started moving from physical paper to digital or electronics through PCs. We now have the technology of networking, which joins systems, computers, networks, and data in them moving the data from one PC to another in a network called public Internet spanning thousands of miles away.
The urge and want to solve our problems led to inventions, discoveries, and innovations coming up with new technologies to be used in our business world to solve those original problems. On the other hand, the inventions, discoveries, and innovations that were made with no intention, purpose, want, urge, desire, goal, or objective, they were eventually used in some or the other way in our business world solving at least some problems. Hence both, the new technology and the business change inspired each other mutually and equally.
