Do higher or lower frequency travel through object easier (ie walls, mountains, etc)? For example 2.4g...

Do higher or lower frequency travel through object easier (ie walls, mountains, etc)? For example 2.4g is able to travel further than 5g with obstacles but X-rays appear to have a better penetration than 5g (ie 5g has trouble penetrating paper but X-ray can do it with ease). I've also noticed in personal experience that shorter antennas also work better in hills (which from my understanding smaller antennas use higher frequencies).
