Black Death was responsible for killing around 50 million people in the middle of 14th century. At that time, people ascribed it to god’s curse and the bad omen of Jews. Today, what do we know about the cause of plague?
Answer
Plague is a bacterial infection by yersina pestis , spread through infected fleas. This disease also known as black death. Because in the affected individual the lymph node become blackened and sweallon after bacteria entered through skin. This bacteria need calcium in order to grow at body temparature, because it missing and important enzyme. Bubonic plague has killed over 200 million people during the course of history.
Three forms of plagues in humans - Bubonic plague , Neumonic plague , septisemic plague.
Develop symptoms 2 to 7 days after occuring infections.
Bubonic plague mainly spread by infected fleas from small animals like rat. The bacteria enter through the skin through flea bite and travel through lymphatic vessels to a lymph nodes and causing it to sweall.
