It has become very common to see employees from different background and culture in a Company. Culturally diverse workplace is the responsibility of company that they do not face any kind of issue like discrimination, Hostile work environment, Biasness, Poor comments, rude behavior from another co worker or manager etc.
Culturally diverse workforce can be said an advantage for company so company must adapt and make policies like diversity programs, Inclusive work environment where Company and its people can adapt to diversity.When a Company has diverse population then they can start with clear goal that diversity is not a burden but it is a benefit to the company.
When Company does not adapt to Culturally diverse populations then they face issues. Company face legal discrimination suits.for example- A company refused to hire Hijabi Girl because Company does not hire Muslim people especially hijabi so The person can file legal suits against the company.
second, Company can face poor morale and increase conflicts at workplace. For example- A US cultured employee does not like Asian culture employee so He tend to passes comment like Chinese, Noodles etc this demotivate asian employee and both do not get along affecting work performance.
In order to solve these issues and conflicts raising from diversity, Company can start with making policies which support diversity and prohibit those activities which discriminate people. Second, Company can mandate every employee to take part in diversity training. Diversity training will help Company to let employees understand cultural values of each other. Thier cultural awareness will improve.
