COVID_19 has a negative side-effect on GCC countries in terms of economy. It has a positive side-effect too. Explain it.
COVID-19 pandemic has a negative side effects upon GCC countries in terms of negative GDP growth, rise in unemployment rate, excessive increase in government spending, despite lower increase in tax revenue and negative sentiments in the economy among the households and investors. It has pushed many economies in the recession due to the lockdown in many countries and international trade has badly affected.
Though, COVID-19 pandemic has positive side effects also. These positive side effects are the reduction in pollution level across all the major industrial cities in the world as well as GCC countries, availability of cleaner air for people to breath, damage control to the harm done to the Ozone layer and control over the green house gases. So, overall environmental condition has improved and it is a positive impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Secondly, people have become more cautious and aware towards, cleanliness, value of human lives, nature and hygiene. It has caused people adapt good and hygienic practices as a part of their life style. The third positive effect is that the government and institutions have realized their limitations in a fight against a virus, making them acknowledge the importance of working together and collaborate for a better world to live. So, these are some of the positive side effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
