  • The UAE is one of the richest country in the world with per capita income of $48,500 in terms of purchasing power parity
  • But this wealth is distributed vastly unequally between different emirates and among various population group.
  • Most of the country's wealth is concentrated in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
  • Even though difference of income exist most people live relatively well and has access to free public services such as health care, social security, water and electricity.
  • The UAE does not impose income tax on individual which is one of the reason of income inequality among the population.
  • But UAE have corporate tax on oil companies and foreign banks. Even Value added tax is removed from most of the essential goods and services.
