Self-check-in and self-check-out saves guests time and can be very appealing to them, however, some hotels believe that guests prefer to interact with hotel staff during their registration and departure. Discuss your position on this matter and how your perspective may change depending on the type of hotel or type of guest involved.
Yes, self-check-in and self check-out is an appealing facility provided by the hotels to its guests nowadays. It not only saves time but saves one from getting in an unwanted conversation with the staff during registration and departure. I kind of like this facility as I can skip the whole conversation and can directly move to my room or to my destination from the hotel. Sometimes, the staff asks the questions that you want to avoid such as whether you liked the facilities, whether you would recommend them, or whether you want to give some feedback, but in reality, you just want to head to your destination. Therefore, it is a good facility to skip unwanted conversations.
My perspective might change with hotels. There are some hotels where you would want to interact with the staff about the facilities provided there or some other stuff. In that case, self-check-in or self check out is not preferred.
