Ans ). This statement basically tells us that although we have come so far in this technology, but still we can't completely rely on them. After this incidence, respective authorities would interogate them and charge for their mistake. The autonomous car project may also get banned if the accident happened due to some miscalculation by the AI/program. Internally, Uber would itself go through the whole incident and analyse it. It may itself put the autonomous uber project on hold to further improve it. A research may be established for retesting and improving the project. This will also have impact on its marketing. Knowing this, people would prefer other safer alternatives. Since its a new technology, and with a view of how large the domain is in terms of autonomous driving, we definetly need to put some more research and efforts. We can't just rely solely on the technology or AI.
