As we know nowadays, how important the websites are in today's era where each and everyone is dependent on the websites for information, social activities, fun, etc. Now the world is connected to the Internet which is the main source of every information that we have in today's life. So it becomes important to attract a good amount of audience towards the website becomes very important. Hence, the design is the first thing that every user visiting the website sees when they first visit. So, there are some guidelines listed below which one must follow while developing anything such as website, software applications, etc.

GUI Design Guidelines:

Looking at the three designs i.e. MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, and a website I have below clarifications based on each one of them. Here we go,

  1. MS Word & Adobe Acrobat:
    1. The MS Word & Adobe Acrobat are very compliant to the design policies as they have a well-organized menu bar and the navigation throughout the application can be made easily and without any problem generated for the users that are making use of the program.
    2. They have also kept consistency and also used common design elements throughout the application which makes it easier for the user to adjust in the environment and manage the things easily.
    3. The page layout and the adjustments of the application according to the screen resolution are also being kept in mind through which there is no randomness in the application and everything is consistent throughout.
    4. The colors and textures used throughout the application are very user-friendly and consist of so much clarity towards the user making the application color compliant.
    5. The typography and the font used to display the content is also one of the advantage that these applications have handed over.
  2. Website:
    1. As all of us use websites daily we come across many good and well-versed websites like social media sites, news sites, etc but today we are going to see what a bad design in the website look like. So, here it is
    2. I have found one poorly designed website just a few days ago when I was just surfing through the web. So, here it is pennyjuice.com as you will see the website there are many flaws in the design of the website some of them that I noticed are as follows:
    3. Firstly it has too many colors and a website with too many colors is very bad to give a look at as the users won't like many colors together and if you want to make use of many colors it is totally cool only until you make use of good colors which blend with each other.
    4. Next, it has very wrongly made navigation bar which is fixed in a very wrong manner which covers 20% of the screen while scrolling and also is not completely covered from the top which makes it look more ugly.
    5. Also, the setting of the containers is also not perfect which makes it too hard to capture the website in one look by the user which is very important while making a website. The website must be able to engage the user in itself.
    6. The last thing that I didn't like about the website was the footer of the website which consists of the twitter and facebook feed which is not at all required there. All such additions to the website must not reside in the footer but must be in a separate section. Utilizing space is also very important.

Hence, these are the things that must be noted while developing a website and must never be repeated. Thus, this is the complete review of the design guidelines for applications as well as the websites.
