Cultural diffusion is the spread of cultural items such as food, technology, ideas etc. from one society to another either directly or indirectly. This is widely occurring due to globalization and increased communication within cultures.
Cultural capital is the accumulation of an individual’s knowledge and skills which portrays one’s cultural competence and depicts one’s standing in the society. It includes the assets that an individual possess and it is measured by how much the society values the asset
Cultural lag refers to how much a society is behind in terms of technological innovation and that the lack of progress affects the society.
Cultural shock occurs when an individual experiences a new culture that is different from one’s own when an individual travels to a new place. It is describes as a personal disorientation one experiences when one is subjected to an entirely new culture.
