Business Ethics

Business Ethics are the values principles that govern the organization's policies and decisions. An organization is called an Ethical organization if it works in compliance with these set principles. Business ethics is also called as 'Corporate Ethics'.

As the CEO of X organization, the steps I would follow to develop and implement a successful plan to involve consumers with the control of the ethical behaviour of business leaders are:

Step 1: Analyse the current ethical environment of the organization through internal assessment.

Step 2: Assess the level of ethical behaviour portrayed by the leaders within the organization.

Step 3: Lay down ethical standards and procedures for the leaders to follow by from now on.

Step 4: Provide an ethical procedure to abide by when leading the employees and getting work done through them.

Step 5: Conduct follow-ups at regular intervals of time to check up on the leaders to see if they are working with adherence to the set ethical standards.

Step 6: See that the products/services rendered by the organization are in compliance with the ethical standards.

Step 7: During the promotion of the product, see that the advertisements do not overstep social and cultural boundaries of the general public.

Step 8: During prospecting and sales, make sure the salesperson doesn't overstep the ethical boundaries of the customers.

Step 9: Take consumer feedback on the product and services rendered by the salesperson.

The implementation of this plan will ensure consumer engagement through the control of the ethical behaviour of the business leaders. Since the business leaders lead the workforce of the organization, making sure that the leaders work according to ethical standards will make sure that the staff too adheres to ethical procedures laid down. This will ultimately result in maximum consumer engagement because consumers are generally drawn towards ethically sound brands.
