2. Scientific vacuum systems can achieve pressures of the order of 10-10 Pa at room temperature. (a) What is the number density of molecules at this pressure? (b) How does this compare to the number density of molecules in the earth’s atmosphere at sea level? (c) How do the mean free paths of an average air molecule compare at these two pressures?
Alternatively, we could say in (b) as : number density at vaccum is 10 times that at sea level.
and in (c) as mean free path at vaccum is 10^15 times that at sea level
