There are two parts to this journal: Peer Educating for Cybersecurity
1. Create a one- two-page contract for those students you are a Peer Educator for explaining THEIR duties as a student and what you as a Peer Educator will do for them. Think of it as a Learning Agreement! You can format any way you like.
2. Briefly explain what a typical Peer Education session for you looks like. Do you use any of the mentions skills? How do you Peer Educate?
1. As a cybersecurity student you should have knowledge of the following topics:
Apart from all these topics, you should have knowledge of all the types of attacks present up to date like Phishing, SQL injection, Ping of Death, Remote file execution attacks, Bluetooth related attacks, Man in the middle attacks, Social Engineering, etc.
In this present day, it is very important to spread the knowledge of cybersecurity among masses to create awareness. It will help the mass to prevent them from being compromised by hackers. You as a cybersecurity student can actually prevent such attacks.
As a peer educator, it will be my duty to teach the cyber-security aspirants about all the attacks present. Apart from having knowledge about the attacks, it is very important to prevent them. A peer educator will actually help you learn prevention techniques.
Having theoretical knowledge is not all you want. Right? To learn about all the attacks it is very important to create an environment in which the students can actually perform the attacks without causing damage to the real cyber realm ie Internet or any other networks. A peer educator will actually help you create such an environment.
Having knowledge of different tools ids also very important. These tools will actually help you to launch attacks in your virtual environment. Some common tools are:
There are many more tools present. The peer educator will help you learn all such tools.
2.
Peer education is based upon the reality that many people(students mainly) make changes not only based on what they know but upon considering the opinions and actions of their trusted peers. Peer educators can communicate and understand in a way that the best-intentioned adults can't understand and can also serve as role models for change.
Me as a cybersecurity student and also a certified ethical hacker has knowledge about all the above-mentioned attacks and skills.
Peer educators are generally the same age or slightly older than the group with whom they work. They work alongside the teacher and also run educational activities on their own, or actually take the lead in organizing and implementing activities. Peer educators can help raise awareness, provide accurate information, and help their classmates develop skills to change society. Some of the ways they are doing this around the world include:
