a) asked people if they like spaghetti.

b) asked people how many people live in their house.

c) asked people to get on a scale and weighed them.

d) asked people to guess the percentage of the population with the coronavirus.

Solutions

Expert Solution

a) asked people if they like spaghetti

For this question, we generally can get two types of answers

1) qualitative - categorical - here we will get answers in the form of yes or no.

2) qualitative - ordinal - in this one can rate the liking of spaghetti on a scale of 1 to 10 in which 10 means like the most.

b) asked people how many people live in their house

for this question we will get answers of quantitative nature. and since the number of people is an integer type we get data of discrete types.

c) asked people to get on a scale and weighed them

for this question we will get answers of quantitative nature. and since the weight of people is can be computed in fractions we will have data of continuous nature.

d) asked people to guess the percentage of the population with the coronavirus

for this question we will get answers of qualitative nature.

here we will be getting answer in the percentage form which is a type of scaled data.

hence we will get the data of ordinal nature or orders nature.
