the Affordable Care Act and the FDA Safety and Innovation Act.
ONC sets the standards and certification criteria that EHRs must
meet to assure health care professional and hospitals that the
systems they adopt are capable of performing ceratin functions.The
ONC HIT Certification Program also supports the Medicare and
Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs. It provide financial incentives
for certified EHR technology.
EMR mandate is a provision of a comprehensive bill passed in
demand for the conversion of patnet chart to electronic system. One
of the mandate is American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
