Philippa Foot has introduced a difficult concept to us and there she explained about a case with different consequences and the main moto of the concept is to decide the case critically, whether killing a person is more cruel or letting someone die is the example of cruelty as well. According to her, if a person is stuck in a difficult situation where he/she has to save some lives but they get to see another injured person who is asking for help then what would be the best decision that one can take. Should it be okay if the person saves one injured person or just ignores him and try to save the other five people? In this case Foot describes the role of an agent who only takes responsibility when he/she kills a person but letting someone die is not a concern for the agent so if he/she just ignores the existence of that injured person and simply left then the agent is not responsible but if the agent literally crashes the person and killed him/her to reach his destination means saving the other lives then that would be crime according to the agent. Many critics have shared their opinions against that letting someone die is equally wrong just like killing someone directly. One can't ignore the seriousness of the issue. If you unknowingly killed someone that would also be a crime. In medical treatment also the meaning differs accordingly. So, proper analysis of a situation is important.
