With at least two concrete examples per phraseology, distinguish between Walk the talk and Talk the walk

Solutions

Expert Solution

ANSWER:

Walk the talk usually refers to taking action as per the words. It means that someone does as they say. They not only say it but prove it through action as well.

Example 1:

An organization talks about protecting the environment with its products, and later on produces such environment friendly products.

Example 2:

Government promises that there will be more opportunities and situations for the youth to mend their skills and behaviours and get good jobs. Then later on government establishes organizations and firms to showcase the talent and reinforce employment.

Talk the walk refers to speaking to impress others. It means that the spoken words were not followed through by actions.

Example 1:

An organization talks about environment protection and generating services to do so and everyone praises it. However, in reality its products are not environment friendly products.

Example 2:

Someone talking about quitting drinking alcohol in public and hence gets applause from the audience. But in reality they do drink and are not able to quit.
