Having read chapter 7, discuss how web sites are being promoted. Also, explain what is monetization? What is the connection between promotion of web sites and monetization?

Websites can be promoted using SEO, advertisements etc. SEO ie Search Engine Optimization is done by SEO experts which make the website to appear in search results. Various websites take money and provides advertisements in social media, videos etc. Often we can see advertisements of these websites in everything we see online. We play video, we see advertisement. We use social media , we see advertisement. So these things promotes the websites.

Monetization means generating revenue from displaying advertisements in your content. We often see websites that have lot of advertisements . We can say that these websites are monetised and are generating revenue from these webites.Monetization of videos, music is done too. Whenever someone clicks on the advertisement of a website in a monetized page, some revenue is given to the admin of monetized page.That's why monetisation is done.

When a website is monetized, it displays advertisement of some other websites. So they are promoting their websites.Whenever someone visits a monetised website , he see advertisement of other website. On clicking that website , he reaches that website and the promotion of the website is done. So that's the link between promotion and monetization.
