A transverse traveling wave on a taut copper wire has an amplitude of 0.200 mm and a frequency of 500 Hz. It travels with a speed of 100 m/s.
(a) Write an equation in SI units of the form y = A sin (kx − ωt) for this wave. (Do not forget units in your answer.)
(b)Find the transverse velocity of the wire at the position x=0.500m at time t=1.00×10-3 s.
(c) The diameter of the wire is 1.00 mm, and the mass per unit volume for copper is 8.92 g/cm3 . Find the tension in the wire.
