The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 has a minimum wage and overtime pay of one and a half times. It also prohibits child labor. It aims to prevent exploitation of employees and ensures that they can maintain a healthy living standard.
The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 ensures employers guarantee retirement and pension benefits if they are promised by the employer.
The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 creates limited rights to take unpaid leave. In practice, good employment contracts can improve on these limited rights.
The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1970 ensures a safe system of work, backed by professional inspectors.
US labor laws more or less similar to other countries labor laws since they want to create an acceptable working environment and give labor bargaining rights in front of a large and influential employer.
They differ as they just aim to create a minimum of living and working standards rather create a social environment where labor rights are preferred over industry and economy.
