What is the pulse pressure of an individual with a blood pressure of 125/70? Include Units.
Answer --
Pulse pressure is the difference of the systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
When we deduct diastolic blood pressure from systolic blood pressure then it is called pulse presure.
As it is given in question that blood pressure is 125 / 70 mmhg then in this conditions pulse presure is 55 mmhg
Blood pressure and pulse pressure is measured in the milimetere of mercury.
There are two terms in the blood pressure reading that is systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure.
Systolic blood pressure is the maximum pressure exerted by the heart during beating and diastolic pressure is measurement of pressure in the arteries.
Systolic is the contraction phase and diastolic is the relaxation phase.
The pulse pressure is normally measured in mmHg and it is 40 - 60 mmhg in a normal.
And when pulse pressure is below 40 it is considered as low pressure which denotes the low cardiac output and it is seen in cardiac arrest.
And high pulse pressure is seen in the case of high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.
So the pulse pressure will be 55mmhg in the given case.
