David Savage, a business graduate, started a manufacturing business known as HARDA Manufacturers. Over the last three years, the company has experienced steady growth. There are seven vice presidents, who represent;
(1) Finance,
(2) Marketing,
(3) Manufacturing,
(4) Information System and Services, (5) Human Resources,
(6) Administration, and
(7) Research and Development.
These seven vice presidents report to David Savage, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of this business. The Information Systems and Services department was established last year when HARDA Manufacturers began developing a new information system consisting of a server connected to each employee's personal computer. This is a limited information system, and the PCs can download and upload data to the server.
HARDA Manufacturers is still designing and developing applications for its new system. David Savage received a letter from the external auditor. He called a meeting with his vice presidents to review the recommendation that HARDA Manufacturer should form an information system steering committee.
Required:
a) Explain the possible reasons for the fact that auditors have recommended forming a steering committee. Also discuss the specific responsibilities of this steering committee. [5 marks]
b) Discuss the benefits and the composition of this steering committee. [2 marks] please write up to 250. no plagiarism please.

Use the list below to answer this question. Wastewater is made up of many different constituents, which one in your opinion create the greatest risks to human habitation? Natural habitation? Which ones are reasonably inert? Is treatment the only way to prevent these elements from entering the wastewater stream?
•water ( > 95%) which is often added during flushing to carry the waste down a drain
•Pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, prions and parasitic worms.
•Non-pathogenic bacteria(> 100,000 / ml for sewage)
•Organic particles such as feces, hairs, food, vomit, paper fibres, plant material, humus, etc.
•Soluble organic material such as urea, fruit sugars, soluble proteins, drugs, pharmaceuticals, etc.
•Inorganic particles such as sand, grit, metal particles, ceramics, etc.
•Soluble inorganic material such as ammonia, road-salt, sea-salt, cyanide, hydrogen sulphide, thiocyanates, thiosulphates, etc.
•Animals such as protozoa, insects, arthropods, small fish, etc.
•Macro-solids such as sanitary towels,nappies/ diapers, condoms, needles, children's toys, dead pets, body parts, etc.

Discussion :
The "Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man" website (www.omim.org) is a great source for information about human genes and genetic traits. Each entry has a unique six-digit number. Autosomal dominant traits have entries that start with a 1, autosomal recessive traits a 2, X-linked a 3, mitochondrial a 5, and specific genes have a number that starts with a 6. I would like you to research one genetic disorder and write a brief paragraph describing the disorder as well as the gene involved and the function of the gene product (if known). To make this first topic easy, I am including a list of choices with a link to the Genetics Home Reference page which describes the gene and the function of the gene product and the entry number to search for on www.omim.org. If you choose a topic from my list then you do not need to post the reference. However, if you would prefer to choose a disorder that is not on the list then you will need to list your reputable source (.org/.gov/.edu).
Here is the list: please write about number 11. Holoprosencephaly, link http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/gene/SHH
11. Holoprosencephaly: http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/gene/SHH; MIM 142945

Ilisa is 7 months pregnant and has to pick up and move a box of books on the floor about 50 feet across the room, around a large couch and set it on a table. She has about 1 minute before she has to take an important call but wants to get the task done first. Before she was pregnant, she was very physically active, participating in regular Pilates classes and hitting the gym a few times a week. However, she hasn't been doing any of her usual activities since the third month of pregnancy.

This article discussed whether are not technological change in medicine provides benefits worth the cost. The authors maintain that technological change is bad only if the cost increases are greater than the benefit. One example used was the cost of options for heart attack survivors, compared to how many years of life they were afforded (known as the quality-adjusted life year (QALY) approach). The value of one year of life was determined to be $100,000. The benefit to society of an additional year of life for heart attack patients is $75,000. In this case, the authors would agree that technology was worth the cost.
I agree with the methodology used by the authors in this study to address the fact that sometimes the services we are paying for as consumers don't add much value to the quality of our lives. We see the idea of relating cost of service to the efficacy of said service permeating all throughout healthcare. One really good example is pharma. A popular trend for governments is locking pharma companies into price agreements based on how well their product is working for consumers. Still, the human element of emotion on paying for these for the services at the end of the day will often overpower cost/benefit analysis for any capable individual. Many of us wouldn't put a limit on how much a service that would extend our loved ones lives is worth.

Hobbes looked to the past to observe a primitive “State of Nature” in which there is no such thing as morality, and that this self-interested human nature was "nasty, brutish, and short" – a kind of perpetual state of warfare.
Locke disagreed, and set forth the view that the state exists to preserve the natural rights of its citizens. When governments fail in that task, citizens have the right – and sometimes the duty – to withdraw their support and even to rebel. Locke addressed Hobbes's claim that the state of nature was the state of war, though he attribute this claim to "some men" not to Hobbes. He refuted it by pointing to existing and real historical examples of people in a state of nature. For this purpose he regarded any people who are not subject to a common judge to resolve disputes, people who may legitimately take action themselves to punish wrong doers, as in a state of nature.
