A door is closed under the control of a spring and dashpot. The spring gives a torque of 13.5 Nm when the door is closed and has a stiffness of 50 N.m/rad. The dashpot gives a damping torque of 100 N.m.s/rad. The moment of inertia of the door about its hinges is 90 Kg.m2. Derive an expression for the motion of the door if it is opened 90o and released and find approximately the time it takes to close

Problem: Car 1 (1000 kg) is traveling east at 8.0 m/s. Car 2 (2500 kg) is traveling west at 4.5 m/s. These two cars have a head-on collision. Car 2 recoils at 2.0 m/s.
a) what is given/known?
b) What is the linear momentum of Car 1 BEFORE the collision?
c) What is the linear momentum of Car 2 BEFORE the collision?
d) What is the linear momentum of the system ( car 1 and car 2) BEFORE the collision:
e) What is the linear momentum of the system (car 1 and car 2) AFTER the collision:
f) What is the linear momentum of Car 2 AFTER the collision:
g) What is the linear momentum of Car 1 AFTER the collision:
h) What is the velocity of car 1 after the collision?
i) is linear momentum of the system conserved in this collision?
j) is the kinetic energy of the system conserved in this collision? (show this by finding the kinetic energy before and after the collision)
k) What type of collision is this? How can you tell?
L) what is the change in the linear momentum of car 1 (a.k.a. the impulse)
m) what is the change in the linear momentum of car 2
n) if the contact time between the cars during the collision is 0.35 s, what is the average force experienced by car 1 on car 2?
o)if the contact time between the cars during the collision is 0.35 s, what is the average force experienced by car 2 on car 1?
p) compare the average forces and impulse values for car 1 and car 2 (e.g. divide average F for car 1 by average f for car 2)
q) Which of newtons laws is demonstrated by these comparisons above?

3. John Deere is operated as a C corporation. The company received an order for a $12,000 tractor from a customer on June 30, 2020 and delivered the tractor to the customer on July 31, 2020. The company sent the customer a bill saying they had to pay for the tractor by no later than January 31, 2021. John Deere uses a calendar year tax period. Based on phone calls with the customer in December of 2020, the customer explained that it may have to file bankruptcy proceedings but was trying to work its way out of financial hardship before taking that option. The customer said that at worst it would be able to pay at least $9,000 of the bill. On January 15, 2021, John Deere received a check from the customer for $9,000 and was informed it would receive no additional payment based on the outcome of the bankruptcy case. In addition to the transaction above, the following occurred:

P18.12 Carly Inc. reported the following accounting income (loss) and related tax rates during the years 2015 to 2021:
| Year | Accounting Income (Loss) | Tax Rate | ||
| 2015 | $ 70,000 | 25% | ||
| 2016 | 25,000 | 25% | ||
| 2017 | 60,000 | 25% | ||
| 2018 | 80,000 | 30% | ||
| 2019 | (210,000) | 35% | ||
| 2020 | 70,000 | 30% | ||
| 2021 | 90,000 | 25% |
Accounting income (loss) and taxable income (loss) were the same for all years since Carly began business. The tax rates from 2018 to 2021 were enacted in 2018. Assume Carly Inc. follows ASPE for all parts of this question, except when asked about the effect of reporting under IFRS in part (b).
Instructions
a. Prepare the journal entries to record income taxes for the years 2019 to 2021. Assume that Carly uses the carryback provision where possible and expects to realize the benefits of any loss carryforward in the year that immediately follows the loss year.
b. Indicate the effect of the 2019 entry(ies) on the December 31, 2019 SFP if Carly follows the ASPE future/deferred income taxes method. Indicate as well the effect on the SFP if Carly reports under IFRS.
c. Show how the bottom portion of the income statement would be reported in 2019, beginning with “Loss before income tax.”
d. Show how the bottom portion of the income statement would be reported in 2020, starting with “Income before income tax.”
e. Prepare the journal entries for the years 2019 to 2021 to record income taxes, assuming that Carly uses the carryback provision where possible but is uncertain if it will realize the benefits of any loss carryforward in the future. Carly does not use a valuation allowance.
f. Assume now that Carly uses a valuation allowance account along with its Future Tax Asset account. Identify which entries in part (e) would differ and prepare them.
g. Based on your entries in part (e), indicate how the bottom portion of the income statements for 2019 and 2020 would be reported, beginning with “Income (loss) before income tax.”
h. From a cash flow perspective, can you think of any advantage in using the valuation allowance for financial reporting purposes? Can you think of any advantage in not using it?

Why is homelessness such an issue for San Francisco if it is an innovation hub?
San Francisco has been a technology innovation hot spot since the 1940s when William Shockley helped boost the economy through his invention of the transistor. This new technology was the seed that helped San Francisco's technology industry blossom into what it is today. As we learned from The New Geography of Jobs by Enrico Moretti, San Francisco is home to some of the biggest names in technology like, Google, Apple, Yahoo, Zynga, and Yelp. It is safe to assume that there is a significant amount of individuals with college degrees living and working here, so why is the homeless rate so high?
In 2019 San Francisco reported a population of 17,595 homeless people living in the city. This was a 30% surge since 2017 (Cowan, 2019). This is also likely to be an underestimate as calculating a homeless population is extremely difficult. One would think, if there are so many high skilled, high tech jobs, the multiplier effect would create a massive amount of lower skilled jobs. What might else might be leading to this high level of homelessness?

PLC and the Diffusion of Innovation
Identify the stage your product is in on the Product Life Cycle (PLC).
Then, based on the stage your product is in on the Product Life Cycle, you will identify the consumers you will be targeting in terms of the Diffusion of Innovations.
By using the question above, make the summary by using Nissan Almera as the brand and search Nissan Almera (PLC) and Diffusion of Innovations (300-350 words)
