Al Amerat landfill is the first engineered sanitary landfill in Oman which began its operations in early 2011. The landfill site consists of many landfills; the first landfill is expected to complete in the end of this year. Good landfill restoration provides an opportunity for landfill operators to promote public acceptance of landfills. Restoration is a process which will return a site to a condition suitable for its proposed after use whilst incorporating measures to protect human health and the environment. Suggest Closure, Post Closure Plan and Landfill Aftercare Plan and After Use for the first landfill in Al Amerat. (Solid waste related issues)

i) Discuss the importin-alpha nuclear import cycle, mechanistically accounting for the key steps of nuclear transport. (Essay style include appropriate diagrams)

ii) Quantitative reasoning, 10 marks: During DNA replication, the genome is duplicated as chromatin. How fast does nuclear transport of histones have to take place in terms of molecules/pore/second in order to support S-phase in human cells? Assume the genome is 6 x 109 bp, a nucleosome spans 200 bp and that 75% of the genome is replicated in the first 3 hr of S-phase. Nuclei contain 2000 nuclear pore complexes. (show work)

Ground

The wire you touched was not only at 0 volts, but also grounded, and yet, you are feeling pretty shitty in this diagram. You have ceased to be as a human, and you are now a part of a circuit, functioning as part of a return leg (pictured above) or as a "parallel path to ground" (not pictured above.)

I don't get how this can work. If the wire is at 0 volts and you are at 0 volts, then there is no potential difference and hence I'd expect no current. Is this physics correct?

Each CLC group will choose one subsystem to change and create a PowerPoint presentation of 12-15 slides (including title and reference slides) addressing the following questions that pertain to the major human resource management responsibilities and to change management. Strengthen your recommendations by showing how your proposed changes are working in another similar organization that is successful. The company is Coca-Cola, and we are brining in product snacks, like protein bar and healthy snack such as dried fruit. 3. How will the subsystem change affect the two other subsystems within the organization that you have identified and how will you realign the total system?

According to research, employers want managers to possess three skills through education and experience. They are the following:

Technical skill-The ability to perform a specific job in the field they work.

Conceptional skill-The ability to think beyond the department in which you work to understand how the entire organization function as a whole.

Human Skill-The soft skills of connecting and interacting with people.

Tell me about a time you encounter a manager who possess one of these skills. How did they effectively manage their team using the skill identified?

If a manager doesn’t possess these skills do you think they can be an effective manager. Why or Why not.

The Children’s ministry has to turn away children because there are not enough workers to comply with teacher-to-student ratio in public schools. The Human Resource department has been assigned the task to find the root causes of manpower redundancy. For this task, The HR director has constituted a team of 3 employees. They are using the Five Whys Technique for this purpose. Complete the Five Whys Technique table on the next page and find out the root cause of manpower redundancy in public schools

The reproductive system is interesting and exciting because a lot of the time when the word reproduction is mentioned we think of...babies! The life-producing aspect is so unique from other systems of the human body, but when childbirth is not the topic of conversation sometimes speaking about the reproductive system can be quite uncomfortable. Especially when Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s) are brought to one’s attention. Although uncomfortable, this topic is very important to discuss because the goal is to maintain a healthy reproductive system. One example of a case that I saw on Grey’s Anatomy is Human Papillomavirus (HPV). In episode 703 called “Superfreak”, a man named Jerry is treated by doctors for “Tree Man” disease. This disease is characterized by severe bark-like growths developing over large portions of the body. When I first saw this episode I thought this disease was just an exaggeration. However, there have been several real-life cases of “Tree Man”. This disease begins from a type of HPV and there are over 100 different types, each type having an effect on a specific body part. Focusing on the reproductive system, HPV 6 and 11 cause about 90% of genital warts and can increase the risk of a handful of cancer types (Marinis 1). According to Marinis, Treeman posses an immunodeficiency to the virus, leading to an increase in size of the growths as will as the rate at which they are producing (Marinis 1). People can mainly prevent this condition by not engaging in sexual activity where the genitals come into contact. Using forms of protection do not guarantee the infection won’t spread. One surprising fact from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is, “50% of all sexually active men and women will contract genital HPV at some point in their lives.” (CDC). Luckily, Gardasil has been approved as a vaccine to prevent types 6 and 11 as well as 16 and 18, which can cause cervical cancer (Marinis 1). Following the procedures we have practicing throughout the course, I identified the meaning of the term by breaking it down into the root word, and suffix. “Human” was self-explanatory but Papillo, the root word, means nipple or resembling a nipple. This part would be referring to the wart. The suffix is oma, meaning swelling or tumor. Virus is another word included in the full term but does not require a meaning break down. At first glance it would seem cancerous but HPV does not necessarily lead to cancer. HPV is a serious worry when the reproductive system is concerned but there are many other STI’s that require awareness as well.
