On October 5, 2020, Diamond in the Flounder Recruiting Group Inc.’s board of directors decided to dispose of the Blue Division. A formal plan was approved. Diamond derives approximately 73% of its income from its human resources management practice. The Blue Division gets contracts to perform human resources management on an outsourced basis. The board decided to dispose of the division because of unfavourable operating results. Net income for Diamond was $95,970 for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2020 (after a charge for tax at 30% and after a writedown for the Blue assets). Income from operations of the Blue Division accounted for $4,270 (after tax) of this amount. Because of the unfavourable results and the extreme competition, the board believes that it cannot sell the business intact. Its final decision is to auction off the office equipment. The equipment is the division’s only asset and has a carrying value of $23,000 at October 5, 2020. The board believes that proceeds from the sale will be approximately $6,000 after the auction expenses. Currently, the equipment’s estimated fair value is $9,600. The Blue Division qualifies for treatment as a discontinued operation. Diamond prepares financial statements in accordance with ASPE.

In the past, SHR has relied on a collection of individual policies to communicate its expectations regarding

In this exercise, you’ll design a role playing character class. The Character class attributes should include the characters’s name, gender, class* and race (can be human, elf or dwarf), and additional integer attributes of Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma.

The Dove Spa was a massage parlor, which the police suspected was operating as a prostitution enterprise, but they had no direct evidence to prove it. The police department decided to initiate an undercover operation in which a plainclothes detective entered and asked for the services of one of the women working there. The woman, of course, did not know he was a police officer, or was wearing a hidden microphone. For $100 and a $35 tip, she fondled the officer’s genitals. The same officer went back to the massage parlor four more times. Over a period of five months, the same officer also visited the massage parlor in another town and allowed the women, who were Chinese immigrants, to fondle him in exchange for cash. This was done in an apparent effort to investigate suspected prostitution and human trafficking. Ultimately, 30 police officers raided two businesses and arrested six people—four alleged prostitutes and two alleged pimps. The undercover methods were defended by the police, but were criticized by legal experts and women’s advocates as “excessive, unnecessary, and misapplied” to an investigation that involved suspected human trafficking.
