Please run a two sample test on independent means using the given data. You may use either a calculator or statdisk but please indicate clearly at the top of your word document what method you are using. if you can type everything out it would be helpful sometimes its hard to read some handwritings but PLEASE STATE THE METHOD YOUR USING

Is Job Satisfaction going down? In the past ten years, several authors have stated that people are miserable in their jobs and have become increasingly unhappy over time. Job satisfaction scores from participants in the General Social Survey (GSS) in 1975 and 2006 were studied. Higher scores indicate greater satisfaction, with 2.5 being a neutral score. Here are summaries of scores for 1975 and 2006:

Year Sample Size Mean Sample Std Dev
1975 1165 3.37 0.81
2006 2177 3.32 0.80

a) Run a test of significance to see if there is a significant decrease in mean scores from 1975 to 2006? Be sure to clearly state the null and alternative hypotheses, clearly label and state the value of the test statistic, clearly label and state the value of the P-value and clearly state the conclusion of the test in the context of the problem.

b) The paper from which the data came includes several years from 1972 to 2006. 1975 was the year with the highest mean score. What, if any, effect does this information have on your assessment of whether job satisfaction has decreased over time?

  1. Huntington’s disease (HD) is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder. As the disease progresses, HD patients exhibit abnormalities in both of their efferent motor divisions. Interestingly, HD patients seem to have impairments in their ability to regulate Mean Arterial Pressure. For example, you are treating a patient who always gets lightheaded and/or faints immediately upon standing. The issue is so pronounced that they literally sleep standing up!

    1. (a) (2 points) What change in MAP occurs for someone who stands up? Please use one word for this answer; do not explain why, as the rest of the question will help you determine why.

    2. (b) (13 points) How would the body normally compensate for this change in MAP? Be sure to outline the steps, pathways, and targets that would be involved, and indicate how those targets would respond to restore MAP. DO NOT INCLUDE ANY CELLULAR MECHANISMS HERE. This means that I want you to tell me HOW the targets activity changes (it increases/decreases contractility, e.g.); do NOT tell me how that change is accomplished (no need to tell me that this transmitter does this thing to keep that channel open.) This is important: if you are not sure how to answer this question, email DMW.

    3. (c) (7 points) Please detail the cellular mechanism for the response that occurs due to smooth muscle ONLY that will contribute to addressing the change in MAP you stated for part a above. For full credit, you must tell me the normal functioning of smooth muscle AND how that response is modified in response to steps outlined in part b.

In this unit, you have been introduced to contribution margin, break-even analysis, and cost-volume-profit analysis. The contribution margin is how much a product contributes to covering fixed costs. Break-even is the point at which both variable and fixed costs are recouped through pricing, with no amounts left over. Both contribution margin and break-even analyses are part of cost-volume-profit analyses (CVP); however, in addition, CVP can be further expanded to determine how changes in prices, costs, and volume impact profits. CVP can also be used to determine the volume needed to make a targeted profit, which can be expressed in both units and sales dollars. Analyses of these variables are critical to management decision-making process. Use this background knowledge to respond to the discussion prompt below:

Refer to the manufacturing company you selected for the Unit 2 Discussion and explain how you would determine the company’s contribution margin and contribution margin percent. In your initial post include the following:

  • Identify which specific variables should be included in the calculation.
  • Illustrate your explanation by calculating the contribution margin and contribution margin percent using hypothetical values.
  • Explain what your calculated results tell you about the company’s sales and cost structure.

Note:

Your discussion should have a minimum of 250 words in length and no more than 450 words. Please include a word count. Following the APA standard, use references and in-text citations from the textbook and any other sources.

The market structures influence how price and output decisions are made by the firms in their respective structure. In all market structures, one of the primary goals is to maximize profits or minimize losses.

One of the major differences between these market structures is how price and output decisions are made, which in turn depends on the characteristics of each market structure. There are four market structures:

Perfect competition

Monopolistic competition

Oligopoly

Monopoly

Tasks:

Construct a table that describes the various characteristics of each market structure.

Identify a firm for each of these market structures and explain why each firm belongs in the market structure identified.

Using Microsoft Excel, construct a graph for each of the market structures and explain how price and output decisions are made in each structure and how they differ.

How is marginal analysis used in the price and output decisions of firms in the various market structures?

Deliverables:

Prepare a 2-3 page Microsoft Word document that addresses the questions above and meets APA standards.

Include a summary section in your report that contains 5-7 bullet points identifying your major findings or conclusions of your paper.

Submit the summary section as your initial post in the Discussion Area by the due date assigned. Include the full report as an attachment to your posting.

Continue your discussions until the end of the week by commenting on at least two other submissions by your peers, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of each post.

All submissions must be original and all resources must be properly acknowledged. I don't want handwritten

You are working on the Operating Room and the trauma alert goes off.
You respond to the ER to provide support. Once in the ER, you receive
report that an 89 year old male is coming in with a self-inflicted GSW
(Gun Shot Wound) to the head. You listen to the radio traffic between
the ER and ambulance to get an idea what kind of surgery you need to
set up for and what will be needed as far as lines and fluid. Here is
the report:

HR: 121
B/P: 60/45
Saturation: 93%
Patient is intubated and non-responsive. Right pupil is fixed and
dilated. Paramedic also states there is a large extended family headed
to the ER. The patient lost his wife of 60 years 1 week ago and left a
note stating that he is too heartbroken to go on. The patient and
family arrive. The neurosurgeon discusses that their father's
potential outcome, even with surgery, is not good. The family still
insists that the neurosurgeon complete the surgery.

1. What are the ethical and legal issues in this case study. Be
specific and support your response with references

Once you have the patient in the room and you are prepped and ready
for surgery, the phone rings. You receive word that the patient signed
DNR orders two days ago.

2. As the OR nurse what are your legal and ethical issues now? Was the
patient of sound mind when he signed this order? Do you honor the DNR
or the family’s wishes? Explain and support your response.

Create a program that accepts in a string of 2 or more words. The program then copies the entered string changing the alpha characters into digits representing characters with acsenders, descenders and nonascender/desender characters; uppercase characters should be treated as lower case. The characters with descenders (gjpqy) should be replaced with a 1. The characters with ascenders (dbfhklt) should be replaced with a 2. The rest of the alpha characters should be replaced with a 3. The converted string should then be displayed. The program should also prompt the user if they would like to enter another string. If they answer y or Y, loop back to the beginning of the program. If they answer n or N, exit the program. All user input should be validated. The word string should have at least one space in it. The Yes or No input must be y, Y, n or N. Do not create an SDM for this lab.

4. The owner of specialty coffee shop wants to study coffee purchasing habits of customers at her shop. She selects a random sample of 60 customers during certain week, with the following results:

The amount spent was ? = $7.25, S = $1.75

Thirty-one customers say they definitely will” recommend the specialty coffee shop to family friends.

a. At the 0.05 level of significance, is there evidence that the population mean amount spent was different from $6.50? (IS THIS RIGHT?)

H0:=6.50

H: doesnt equal 6.50

Population standard deviation is not given, sample size is large, using sample t confidence interval for population mean.

n=60

x=7.25

s=1.75

SE Mean=0.226

95% confidence interval=(6.798,7.702)

T=3.32

b. Determine the p-value in (a). (IS THIS RIGHT?)

P-Value=.002

Since P-Value is is less than .05 the null hypothesis is rejected.

c. At the 0.05 level of significance, is there evidence that more than 50% of all customers say they “definitely will” recommend the specialty coffee shop to family and friends? (IS THIS RIGHT?)

With a 5% significance level there is evidence that the population mean amount spent was different from the $6.50.

d. What is your answer to (a) if the sample mean equals $6.25? (HELP)

e. What is your answer to (c) if 39 customers say they “definitely will” recommend the specialty coffee to family and friends? (HELP)

f. Submit an excel file which clearly describes the data, intermediate calculations, and final results. Also submit a word file to provide explanation of each step while solving the problems. (HELP)
