An educational psychologist has developed a meditation technique to reduce anxiety. The psychologist selected a sample of high anxiety students that are asked to do the meditation at two therapy sessions a week apart. The participants' anxiety is measured the week before the first session and at each subsequent session. Below are the anxiety scores for the participants. What can the psychologist conclude with an α of 0.01?

6 Assume the car expert requested estimates of the mean number of days to sell for the Domestic cars with a margin of error of seven days and the mean number of days of Foreign cars with a margin of error of eight days. Using 98% confidence, how large should the sample sizes be for each?
7 Suppose a Domestic car has a list price of $30,000 and a Foreign car has a list price of $30,000. What is your estimate of the final selling price (based on the percent difference for the sale and list price) and number of days required to sell each of these cars?

Although it is generally assumed that routine exercise will improve overall health, there is some question about how much exercise is necessary to produce the benefits. To address this question, a researcher obtained 20 pairs of participants, matched on age, gender, and weight. All participants exercised regularly but one participant within each pair exercised less than two hours per week, and the other spent more than five hours per week exercising. Each participant was subsequently evaluated by a physician and given an overall rating of their health. The researcher runs the statistics using SPSS and obtains the output below:

Case:
Your firm has a major telecommuting program. Under the terms of the program, employees are allowed to work at home two days a week. Because you prefer the structure and routine of a regular work schedule and workplace, you have elected not to participate. One of your best friends, however, elected to participate in the program and talks about how wonderful it is. You know from comments he's made to you, however, that your friend recently spent part of a work-at-home day on the golf course. You also know he occasionally buys the family groceries and runs errands during work-at-home time. You have asked your friend about these comments. Your friend was clearly uncomfortable and embarrassed. He mumbled some answer about comp time to offset some work at night and then quickly changed the subject.
Questions
1. What are the arguments for and against your friend's behavior?
2. How would you handle working from home? What protocols might you put into place to make working from home effective and productive?
3. What are the ethical issues in this situation?
4. What would you do in this situation? What do you think most people would do? How would you handle working from home?
Please answer all of the questions, if you can not answer all of the questions do not reply.

1.A three-course meal at a restaurant consists of a choice of one of 5 salads, one of 7 entrees and one of 4 desserts. If a diner chooses each course of her meal randomly, what is the probability that she will choose: a Cobb salad, grilled ribs with corn on the cob, and a slice of boysenberry cobbler.
2. If the letters ACDEINOTU are arranged in order randomly, what is the probability that the arrangement will spell the word "EDUCATION"
3. A phone number(not counting the area code) consists of a sequence of seven digits from 0-9. What is the probability of randomly generating seven digits and getting the phone number of one of the 25 students in a Statistics class ( assume each student has exactly one phone number)

An amusement park studied methods for decreasing the waiting time (minutes) for rides by loading and unloading riders more efficiently. Two alternative loading/unloading methods have been proposed. To account for potential differences due to the type of ride and the possible interaction between the method of loading and unloading and the type of ride, a factorial experiment was designed. Use the following data to test for any significant effect due to the loading and unloading method, the type of ride, and interaction. Use . Factor A is method of loading and unloading; Factor B is the type of ride.

To determine the effect of advertising in the Yellow Pages, Bell Telephone took a sample of 40 retail stores that did not advertise in the Yellow Pages last year but did so this year. The annual sales (in thousands of dollars) for the same store in both years were recorded and are shown below. Bell would like to know if the average sales for this year are greater than the average sales for last year. A) State the Null and Alternative Hypotheses. B) Is this a left-tailed, right-tailed, or two-tailed test? C) Run an appropraite t-test (use 5% level of significance); use cell G27 for your output. D) Change correct p-value to a % and highlight yellow. Make a decision based on your t-test results.

Henrietta’s Pine Bakery
Background
You are an Analyst for the professional service firm, FINACC LLP. Your firm specializes in providing a wide variety of internal business solutions for different clients. Given the outstanding feedback you received on your first engagement working for Big Spenders Inc., a Senior Manager in the Financial Advisory group requested your support on a compilation engagement.
Additional Information
Henrietta’s was established in 1963 when it first opened its doors in Dwight, Muskoka on highway 60. Over the past 50 years, there have been four owners and is currently owned by Carine & Geoff Harris who incorporated and took over the store on January 1, 2013. Their sons, Kyle and Nicholas have been an intricate part of the business from dishwashing to head bakers. Henrietta's has grown over the years with the addition of new items all the time, but the "Sticky Buns and Clouds" remain the most popular items amongst the 150 varieties of breads and pastries.
Henrietta’s runs out of 90 square meters (1,000 share feet) of space. It has one entrance into the bakery and doors leading out to highway 60. Henrietta’s pays $5,000 per month for the rental of the space. Carine and Geoff were able to negotiate with the landlord and were not required to pay the first month’s rent in advance. All of the rental payments are current and up to date. For the last two years, Henrietta’s has had a very reliable accountant prepare its year-end financial statements and everything has been correct. This year, Henrietta’s accountant retired and Geoff did the best he could recording his own financial information. For the information he was not sure about, he kept all of the required supporting documentation. Geoff hired your firm, FINACC LLP to prepare his financial statements for the year. Geoff supplied you with his unadjusted trial balance and the information in Exhibit I to assist you.
