  1. The following data are claims (in $millions) for Blue cross Blue shield benefits benefits for nine states, along with the surplus (in $millions) that the company had in assets in those states.

State                  Claims          Surplus

Alabama               1425              277

Colorado                 273              100

Florida                   915             120

Illinois                  1687              259

Maine                     234                40

Montana                 142                25

North Dakota          259               57

Oklahoma               258               31

Texas                       894             141

Use the data to compute a correlation coefficient, to determine the correlation   between claims and surplus. Interpret the results accordingly explain all variables under study along with their significance. Further explain entire concept of Correlation using 5 real life situations which explains the concept of correlation in detail. Make use of appropriate reference and enrich your literature review appropriately

An industrial psychologist is investigating the effects of work environment on employee attitudes. A group of 20 recently hired sales trainees were randomly assigned to one of four different “home rooms” – five trainees per room. Each room is identical except for wall color. The four colors used were green, blue, gray and red. The psychologist wants to know whether room color has an effect on attitude, and, if so, wants to compare the mean attitudes of the trainees assigned to the four room colors. At the end of the training program, the attitude of each trainee was measured on a 60-point scale (the lower the score, the poorer the attitude).

Data from the sample are provided in the following table:

green blue gray red
group a 47 55 33 41
group b 59 49 49 43
group c 50 53 46 46
group d 56 54 54 35
group e 44 48 40 52
  1. Conduct a one-way ANOVA with Room Color as your treatment effect (level of significance = .10). Clearly mention your null and alternate hypotheses, calculations and your conclusion. [Show your code in “R Code” section. Show the answer in “Answer” section. Include the null and alternate hypotheses and the phrase “accept null hypothesis” or “reject null hypothesis” along with a justification in a few sentences in “Comments” section.]
  2. Conduct a randomized complete block ANOVA with Group as your blocking effect (level of significance = .10).

I am working on extensive report for my Advanced Corp. Tax class and I am hoping to get a better understanding of the following:

-In order for a corporation to make a valid “S” election, the corporation must be a “small business corporation.” Explain the meaning of “small business corporation” in this context.

-Explain what ‘separately stated items’ are in regards to Partnerships and S corporations? Give an example of ‘separately stated items’ for each type of entity.

-What requirements must be met in order for a corporation to make an effective S election?

-Why is ‘depreciation’ listed twice on Schedule M-1 of an S corporation tax return? (once on line 3 and once on line 6)

-In the S corporation context, what do the acronyms “AAA” and “OAA” stand for? Explain the purpose of both accounts.

-A client of yours is curious as to why a Form 1120-S has a section at the bottom of the first page where tax is calculated. The client understands that an S corporation is a pass-through entity, so the client asks you, “Why is there a tax calculation section at the bottom of the first page of the Form 1120-S?” Please respond to your client.

-Compare and contrast S corporations and LLCs. Be as specific and provide as much detail as possible.

A student performed an experiment similar to the one that you will perform, but using different solutions from the ones that you will use. The student's data are presented in Table 4 below.

1.) Is a 0.1 M solution of NaNO2 acidic or basic?

2.) What experimental evidence supports your answer?

3.) List the solutions studied by the student that are basic.

4.) What experimental evidence supports your answer?

Table 4 Student data for estimating the PH of solutins

   indicator color

0.1 M Solution methly violet methyl orange thymolphthalien phenolphthalein
NH2OH violet yellow light blue red
HNO2 violet red colorless colorless
C2H2NH2 violet yellow blue red
NaNO2 violet yellow colorless light pink
Ca(OH)2 violet yellow blue red

5.) Using these data, compare the relative basicity of the Ca(OH)2 and C2H5NH2 solutions. Briefly explain on what basis you can or cannot make this comparison.

6.) List the basic solutions in order of increasing basicity.

7.) What experimental evidence supports your answer?
