(a) Estimate the terminal speed of a wooden sphere (density 0.870 g/cm3) falling through air, if its radius is 8.00 cm and its drag coefficient is 0.500. (The density of air is 1.20 kg/m3.)

Incorrect: Your answer is incorrect.

Your response is within 10% of the correct value. This may be due to roundoff error, or you could have a mistake in your calculation. Carry out all intermediate results to at least four-digit accuracy to minimize roundoff error. m/s

(b) From what height would a freely falling object reach this speed in the absence of air resistance?

Incorrect: Your answer is incorrect.

c++

The purpose of this project is to test your ability to use files, class design, operator overloading, and Strings or strings effectively in program design

Create a program which will read a phrase from the user and create a framed version of it for printing. For example, the phrase "hello world"would result in:

   *********
   * hello *
   * world *
   *********

Whereas the phrase "the sky is falling"might be:

   ***********
   * the     *
   * sky     *
   * is      *
   * falling *
   ***********

Or:

   ***********
   *   the   *
   *   sky   *
   *   is    *
   * falling *
   ***********

Or even:

   ***********
   *     the *
   *     sky *
   *      is *
   * falling *
   ***********

Depending on whether or not the user asked for left, centered, or right justification — respectively — of the phrase's words within the frame. Note how the frame exactly fits the phrase based on the longest word within. Neat, eh?

The phrase "O | -+- | /-\"when centered would become:

    *******
    *  O  *
    *  |  *
    * -+- *
    *  |  *
    * /-\ *
    *******

(Okay, so it's a sad excuse for a stick figure, but hey! I've never claimed to be a great good decent artist, now have I? *phbbt*)

Also allow the user to specify what character you are to make the frame from. Typical choices would be @, #, *, +, x, X, o, or O. But let them tell you anything that will print just fine. (Hint: cctype has a function called isprint that tells if a character is printable.)

Give them the option of reading phrases from the keyboard or a file they specify (assume each line of the input stream contains a single phrase).

The user should also be able to choose if the framed phrase is printed on the screen or into a file they specify.

In case it isn't clear, you should create a 'frame the phrase' class. It should have overloaded operators for at leastinput and output. (Although concatenation might prove interesting, too...)

add a choice of frame types: single line, double line, or shaded. For instance:

    +---------+     +============+      +--------+    +=======+
    |         |     ||          ||      |        |*   ||     ||#
    |         |     ||          ||      |        |*   ||     ||#
    +---------+     +============+      +--------+*   +=======+#
                                         **********    #########

The stream of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been becoming an integral part in human life. Existing robots reveals a vast diversity in structural shapes, materials for developing variety of components and modes of mobility. However, most of the robots have one thing in common, they are passively balanced (a state of stable equilibrium).
As we consider two-wheel robots, their system is unstable. These two-wheel robots are called as “Two-Wheels Self-Balancing Robots (TWSBR)” which describes a robot that can balance by itself and prevent from falling. It can prevent falling when it is in rest (standing vertically), during motion
and under a limited external force. These robots also classified under category of ‘mobile robots’ since its motion depends on wheels. In order to develop a TWSBR, a control system which has the capability of stabilizing an unstable system is required. The function and structural development of this control system is based on the classic problem in dynamics and control theory called as “Inverted Pendulum”. Furthermore, it is the idea of having a Pendulum with its center of mass being above its pivot point. This concept is used as a benchmark for testing control strategies. The control system consists of an Accelerometer (Arduino UNO R3) and a Gyro-meter (MPU 6050) to prevent the robot from falling.
Apart from the complexity of the design, two-wheel self-balancing mechanism has a great advantage in maneuverability. Since the maneuverability of TWSBR depends on two wheels, it reduces the turning radius of the robot to zero. This provides a great advantage over three or four wheels robots when turning in tight corners. TWSBR can rotate around its own axis, change the direction and avoid or change the direction in tight corners rapidly than three or four-wheel robots. Due to these advantages, TWSBRs can be useful in certain applications. These robots can be used in hazardous environments to reduce the human exposure to hazardous materials, surveillance security and mobility of elder people or people with disabilities. Segway Inc. had become a successful developer in manufacturing TWSBRs which are helpful for elderly people and people with disabilities.

The budget director for Vernon Cleaning Services prepared the following list of expected selling and administrative expenses. All expenses requiring cash payments are paid for in the month incurred except salary expense and insurance. Salary is paid in the month following the month in which it is incurred. The insurance premium for six months is paid on October 1. October is the first month of operations; accordingly, there are no beginning account balances. Required Complete the schedule of cash payments for S&A expenses by filling in the missing amounts. Determine the amount of salaries payable the company will report on its pro forma balance sheet at the end of the fourth quarter. Determine the amount of prepaid insurance the company will report on its pro forma balance sheet at the end of the fourth quarter.

1. Answer the following questions:

A) On April 30, 2020, Connie borrowed P 185,000 at 10% compounded monthly. The loan is to be paid out in 90 equal monthly payments with the first payment on May 31, 2020. What is the size of each monthly payment?

B) Cocoy wants to accumulate P 230,000 in 9.5 years. Equal deposits are made at the end of each quarter in an account that pays 15% compounded quarterly. What is the size of each deposit?

C) A man deposits P 5,200 at the end of each three months in an account paying 14% converted quarterly. In order to accumulate P105,000, how many regular deposits every quarter must he make, and what is the size of the concluding deposit, if one is needed?

Case: Monica’s Designer Handbags: Creative Marketing Decision-Making

QUESTIONS FOR STUDENTS TO ANSWER

  1. What is Monica’s unit contribution margin (in dollars per handbag) on the Grand*Mart initial deal, using their suggested wholesale price of $20, after incremental direct expenses? (Diagram as Exhibit 2 - Grand*Mart Discount Channel.)
  2. What is the incremental profit impact (in dollars per month) of the suggested initial Grand*Mart 2,000 bag deal to Monica, after the increased overhead expense of $25,000? What is the incremental profit impact of the prospective 10,000 bag order, after increased overhead expense of $75,000?
  3. What are Monica’s other key financial and non-financial considerations (such as, cannibalization of the independent retailer channel) for the suggested Grand*Mart deal?
  4. Should Monica propose the Grand*Mart deal as suggested? Or should she take a pass and stay exclusively with the independent retailer channel? Or should she renegotiate the initial 2,000 bag deal for the first quarter? Should she offer Grand*Mart an exclusive 10,000 deal for the second quarter?
  5. What is the maximum wholesale price that Grand*Mart could be willing to pay Monica, given their probable retail price and typical margin requirements? If Monica decides to renegotiate the initial Grand*Mart deal as of the first quarter with volumes of 2,000 bags per month and incremental overhead of $25,000 per month, what “best and final” price should she propose that would be acceptable to both parties? What is the revised incremental profit impact?
  6. If Monica decides to offer Grand*Mart an exclusive deal as of the second quarter at minimum volumes of 10,000 bags per month with overhead expenses of $75,000 per month, what “best and final” price should she propose that would be acceptable to both parties? What is the profit impact of this exclusive deal?
