DataSpan, Inc., automated its plant at the start of the current year and installed a flexible manufacturing system. The company is also evaluating its suppliers and moving toward Lean Production. Many adjustment problems have been encountered, including problems relating to performance measurement. After much study, the company has decided to use the performance measures below, and it has gathered data relating to these measures for the first four months of operations.

1-a. Compute the throughput time for each month.

1-b. Compute the delivery cycle time for each month.

1-c. Compute the manufacturing cycle efficiency (MCE) for each month.

3-a. Refer to the move time, process time, and so forth, given for month 4. Assume that in month 5 the move time, process time, and so forth, are the same as in month 4, except that through the use of Lean Production the company is able to completely eliminate the queue time during production. Compute the new throughput time and MCE.

3-b. Refer to the move time, process time, and so forth, given for month 4. Assume in month 6 that the move time, process time, and so forth, are again the same as in month 4, except that the company is able to completely eliminate both the queue time during production and the inspection time. Compute the new throughput time and MCE.

There is a walled city that is circular with radius R. Assume that when the population if this city is N, the benefit per person is ((π(R^2))/N)^2. The cost of defending is given by (b2πR)/N. Walls for defense were already built a long time ago, so people in the city do not have to bear the cost of building walls. Since there is a risk of epidemic, its cost is (C(N/πr)^2). Because this city still has much capacity, the government can control the population of the city by accepting immigrants or increasing birth rates.

a. Describe the net social benefit (NSB) that the government wants to maximize.

b. Find the optimal population.

ABC Inc of Portland plans to build a water purification plant overseas. After conducting some study, the following info was gathered:

a. Initial Investment $7,000,000

b. Projected Cash flows: year 1: $850,000, year 2: $975,000, year 3: $1,000,000, year 4: $1,500,000, year 5: $2,000,000, year 6: $3,000,000

c. Cost of capital: 15 percent

Given that info determine the following:

1. NPV and IRR and recommend whether plant should be built or not.

2. the value overseas appreciates by 4 percent per year over the next six years, repeat part 1 and discuss go or no go

A coal burning power plant in upstate New York has been the only provider of power in the region for many years.

A coal burning power plant in upstate New York has been the only provider of power in the region for many years. Recently, a plant that uses wind to create energy was built nearby. The wind plant produces less energy than the coal plant but at a lower cost. Will the coal plant be able to remain competitive in this new market environment?
A. Yes, if the coal plant sells energy at a price below its marginal cost.
B. Yes, if the coal plant's decreased output is still sufficient to recover costs.
C. No, the coal plant's customers will switch to the wind powered plant.
D. No, the coal plant will be forced to cut prices and operate at a loss.
Answer: B

(b) the total depletion layer width W and depletion into the n (Wn) and p (Wp) sides at zero bias

(c) the maximum electric field at zero bias

(d) the maximum electric field at 7V reverse bias

(e) Sketch the energy band diagram, charge density distribution, electric field distribution, and potential distribution as a function of position x for both zero bias and 7V reverse bias.

Golf-course designers have become concerned that old courses are becoming obsolete since new technology has given golfers the ability to hit the ball so far. Designers, therefore, have proposed that new golf courses need to be built expecting that the average golfer can hit the ball more than 235 yards on average. Suppose a random sample of 118 golfers be chosen so that their mean driving distance is 239.8 yards, with a standard deviation of 43.6. Conduct a hypothesis test where H0:μ=235 and H1:μ>235 by computing the following:

(a) test statistic?

(b) p-value?

(c) If this was a two-tailed test, then the p-value is?

Alex is a carpenter who purchased a vacant block of land in Sydney on 1 October 1980. On 1 September 1986, Alex built a house on the land. At the time, the land was valued at $110,000 and the cost of construction was $100,000. Immediately, after the construction finished, the property has been rented out. On 1 March 2019, Alex sold the property at auction for $1,400,000. With reference to relevant legislation/case law determine: (A) Alex’s net capital gain or net capital loss for the year ended 30 June 2019 using both Discount method and Indexation method. (B) How would your answer to (A) differ if the owner of the property was a company instead of Alex?

Say I have and Array so MyArray starts off as S A Q W A R .... I want to sort the Array alphabetically using ascii codes to sort. However in Ascii code capital letters come first and then lower case letters are sorted after. My goal is to not only sort the array, but also make lowercase sorted in its proper place. I am using visual basics and I cant use a built in sorter that does it the easy way, I have to sort it somehow in visual basics. please help me learn how todo this! Will rate very highly, thanks so much!
