We all know the Earth exerts gravity on us, but other objects in the solar system also pull on us. In the following series of problems we will investigate how strong gravity is for a person standing on the surface of the Earth from various objects in the solar system. You can answer the following series of questions using Newton's Law of Gravity; use the units given and the Gravitational Constant, G = 6.67 ×10-11 m3/kg/s2.

A controversial practice in conservation is the collecting of DNA from endangered animals and keeping it safe in various institutions so as to have a "stored bank" in case the animal goes extinct. One such project is the Frozen Ark Project. The "mission of the Frozen Ark Project is to collect, preserve and store tissue, gametes, viable cells and DNA from endangered animals. The project focuses on the thousands of animals that are threatened with extinction. Animal species are dying out at an unprecedented rate. The current round of extinctions is largely created by mankind, because of the increase in human populations and its effect on the planet’s ecosystems. Global warming is a major contributor to this destruction. Despite the best efforts of conservationists, thousands of extinctions are happening. This pattern is common across all animal groups, both vertebrate and invertebrate, and emphasizes the importance of collecting the genetic materials and cells of endangered animals before they disappear. The loss of a species destroys the results of millions of years of evolution. If cells are preserved, invaluable information about the species is saved. The Frozen Ark Project is not a substitute for conservation, but a practical and timely backup of genetic material for the good of, future generations" (https://frozenark.org/). Do you think this is a viable practice? Ethical practice? What are the positives and possible negatives of such 'frozen' projects?

-> In some cases, it is legally and ethically appropriate for health professionals to proceed with treatment without consent or proceed with a treatment that is against the patient's decision.
As based on my opinion it is absolutely acceptable in some cases, as we know in some cases there have some ethical issues in India working with human cells (like cloning or gene modification etc).
But in some cases like for example, a patient who has a critical fever for some days and is under treatment in a hospital, accidentally he has positive in corona virus because of symptoms are relatively the same, that treatment will also proceed against the patient's decision.
-> Capacity means the ability to use and understand information to make a decision and communicate any decision made. A person lacks capacity if their mind is impaired or disturbed in some ways, which means they are unable to make a decision at that time.

Chapter 10
You are a supervisor in Macklin Corporation, a manufacturer of carpentry tools that is located in Los Angeles. During a recent staff meeting, employee motivation was a major topic of discussion. A number of the supervisors indicated that their subordinates don’t seem to be as highly motivated as they were a few years ago. As a result, work is not produced as quickly or with as much quality as was the case earlier. Some at the meeting indicated that this is a sign of the times-that is not the fault of Macklin. Others indicated that they believed the problem stemmed from the fact that salary increases have been lower the last several years than ever before, primary because the company is not as profitable as it was earlier. Others said that they believe the problem of employee motivation can be attributed to a lack of fringe benefits in Macklin, especially since an increasing number of companies in the Los Angeles area are being more generous with the benefits they offer. To correct the problem, several supervisors recommended that a consultant be brought in. Another recommendation was to have the personnel department do an in-house study to determine the source of the problem. A questionnaire could be developed that would respond to anonymously. While no decision were made at the meeting, the executive vice president for the input of each person who attended he wants input regarding your ideas about (1) the reasons why the employees are not as highly motivated as they were in the past and (2) whether the study should be conducted by a consultant or by the human resources department.
Do you believe that small salary increases and a lack of fringe benefits may be the cause of the motivation problem? Why?

n this paper, you will compare and contrast pay structures used by two different businesses. For example, you could choose between Apple and Dell, Target and Kohl's, OR Walmart and Meijer’s. The businesses you compare should provide similar products and/or services and be in close proximity, such as the same city or state. Review articles and videos found throughout the course and/or search the Internet to find articles relating to how your two chosen organizations differ or are similar in compensation (wages and benefits). Behind lens A there is another thin lens, lens B, with a focal length of 20.7 cm . The two lenses share a common axis and are 61.5 cm apart. Is the image of the firefly that lens B forms real or virtual? What is the height of this image? Express the answer as a positive number (nm)?
image distance from lens B cm:

One of the inevitable consequences of aging is a decrease in the flexibility of the lens. This leads to the farsighted condition called presbyopia (elder eye). Almost every aging human will experience it to some extent. However, for the myopic, or nearsighted, person it is possible that far vision will be limited by a subpar far point and near vision will be hampered by an expanding near point. One solution is to wear bifocal lenses that are diverging in the upper half to correct the nearsightedness and converging in the lower half to correct the farsightedness.
Suppose one such individual asks for your help. The patient complains that she can’t see far enough to safely drive (her far point dfar=114 cmd and she can’t read the font of her smart phone without holding it beyond arm’s length (her near point dnear=81.0 cm? Prescribe the bifocals that will correct the visual issues for your patient.
a)What is the focal length fns of the part of the bifocal lens that corrects the patient's nearsightedness?
b) What is the focal length ffsffs of the part of the bifocal lens that corrects the patient's farsightedness?

Pandemic is an outbreak of a disease prevalent over a country or the world. If left unchecked, the number of infected population C is growing at an exponential rate and can be modeled as a function of time T as C=2?, where T is measured in days. 1) What is the infected population after ten days if the pandemic is left unchecked? After 20 days? 2) If left uncheck, how many days will it take for the pandemic to infect the whole world 7 billion? 3) Refer to the websites and compare the model forecast with real world data. Does this model predict well the trend of infected population (confirmed cases) during the COVID-19 outbreak? 4) Based on this exponential growth model, what factors are missing in predicting the trends in different countries or regions? Do all countries follow the same trend? Explain. 5) According the official data, both total COVID-19 confirmed cases and total deaths double every seven days. What is the average daily growth rate and death rate of the pandemic in the world? 6) To slow down the pandemic, the most effective way in the short run is to quarantine and testing, which must be enforced by the public policy. What are the economic benefits and costs of these measures to individual and to other social members? How to measure these benefits and costs? 7) To eradicate the most lethal virus in human history, the most effective way in the long run is to vaccine.
