The erosion rate of a streambank is calculated by the excess shear stress equation: e=k(a-c) where e is the erosion rate in m/s, k is the erodibility coefficient in m^3/ N s, a is the applied shear stress (Pa) and c is the critical shear stress (Pa). The applied shear stress is calculated using the equation a=den*g*d*s where den is the density of water (1000 kg/m^3), g is the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s^2), d is the depth of water (m) and s is the bed slope (m/m). The critical shear stress is a function of the silt and clay content of the streambank and is calculated using the following equation: c=0.1+0.1779(SC%)+0.0028(SC%)2-2.34E-5(SC%)3 where SC% is the percent of the streambank that is silt and clay. The erodibility coefficient is calculated using the equation k=0.20*c^-0.5. Develop a program in MATLAB that calculates the erosion rate of a streambank. The user should enter the following values: depth of water, bed slope and percent of silt and clay. The program should write out “The erosion rate is:”, the rate calculated and the units. Test the program using the following: d=1, s=.001, SC=35 and d=0.1, s=.004, SC=50. Document the erosion rate. Paste all input and output code into this Word document.

Pages 84-85 of the book list the keys to success for the implementation stage of strategic planning. Pick five(5) of these questions to explain in your own word. Why are they important? What happens if they're ignored?
Below are the questions:
1. A well-defined strategic planning process.
2. Clear and visible executive support, sponsorship, and involvement.
3. An empowered strategic planning team.
4. Involvement of all levels of the organization (inclusive not exclusive approach).
5. Thorough analysis of internal and external competitive data (while some information is the same at the top level of strategic planning, additional data are required as you go though the varying levels of an organization, particularly when it comes to organizational strengths and weaknesses).
6. Clear priorities and a strategic plan with both strategic and tactical objectives.
7. Implementation plan (spelling out the cost, duration, priority order, and accountability for each strategy and tactic). This phase of strategic planning is part of the tactical playbook for day-to-day activities telling employees the priorities and presenting the logic for actions they need to take in their daily work.
8. Review, reevaluation, and revision of the strategic plan, yearly at a minimum, quarterly more optimally, and even more often in fast-moving environments.
9. An organizational understanding of how to do strategic planning with the adjacent under- standing of the need for strategic planning.
10. A commitment to change.

Suppose that you have been hired by the UF student health services department to design a cohort study to assess the following hypothesis among UF students: Irregular sleep patterns increase the risk of headaches.
please note key word is "DESIGN A COHORT STUDY" not a case control study. chegg answered the same question but for case-control design. i need help for the cohort study though same questions
Be sure that your design addresses the following elements:

Wk 2 - Compensation Evaluation Assignment Content Resource: Compensation Evaluation Grading Guide You were hired to work as a HR consultant for a small local hospital, with the task of expanding the workforce of certified medical assistants. Looking at the current three employees, you find a discrepancy in compensation between Susi, a 2-year employee at $28,000; Tom, 5-year employee at $27,000; and Raul, a 10-year employee at $33,000. All are employed as certified medical assistants, yet they all earn different salaries. According to survey data, all three employees are below the market rate for this job in the local job market. All three employees are also exemplary employees with near perfect scores in their most recent performance evaluation. Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper that includes the following: Explain the discrepancy in pay among the current employees. Describe the strategy you would take to correct the internal equity issue. Describe the strategy you would take to correct the external equity issue. Explain how you will ensure new hires will be paid equitably, both internally and externally. Explain how an organization's Total Compensation strategy affects its financial operations and its ability to attract, motivate, and retain top talent. Cite all sources according to APA formatting guidelines.

International Finance
A) Using the currency tables provided in the International Finance Handout (page 9) in Canvas for July 4, 2014 (Friday’s reported price), convert $100,000 to Indian Rupees. You can choose to use either US $ Equivalent or Currency per US $
B) Using the currency tables provided in the international Finance Handout (pages 8 and 9) in Canvas for June 6th, 2014 and July 4th, 2014 (Friday’s reported price for each), identify whether the US dollar got stronger or weaker relative to the European euro during this time period.
C) Using the currency tables provided in the International Finance Handout (page 9) in Canvas for July 4th, 2014 (Friday’s reported price), calculate the Russian Ruble/Turkish Lira exchange rate (hint – rubles should be in the numerator).
Cost Of Capital
A) Explain why debt is typically the cheapest source of financing for the firm and common stock the most expensive (hint – there are two reasons why debt is the cheapest…you should mention them both). Note that the word “Explain” is not the same as “list” – to get full credit
B) Given the statement in A (debt is typically the cheapest source of financing for the firm and common stock the most expensive), firms that want to minimize their cost of capital should get 99% of their total financing from debt and only 1% from common stock. True or False and explain.

Directions: Use the crosstabe option in the Descriptives menu to answer the questions based on the following scenario. ( Be sure to select Chi-square from the sStatistics submenu and Observed, Expected, Row, and Column in the Cell submenu. Assume a level of significance of .05)
The school district recently adopted the use of e-textbooks, and superintendent is interested in determining the level of satisfaction with e-textbooks among students classification. The superintendent selected a sample of students from one high school and asked them how satisified they were with the use of e-textbooks. The data that were collected are presented in the following table.
1. Of the students that were satisfied, what percent were Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior? (Round your final answer to 1 decimal place.
2. State an appropriate null hypothesis for this analysis.
3. What is the value of the chi-square statistic?
4. What are the reported degrees of freedom?
5. What is the reported level of significance?
6. Based on the results of the chi-square test of independence is there an association between e-textbook satisfaction and academic classification?
7 Present the results as they might appear in an article. This must include a table and narrative statement that reports and interprets the results of the analysis.
Note: The table must be created using your word processing program. Tables that are copied and pasted from SPSS are not acceptable.

The Lynn Company uses a normal job-costing system at its Minneapolis plant. The plant has a machining department and an assembly department. Its job-costing system has two direct-cost categories (direct materials and direct manufacturing labor) and two manufacturing overhead cost pools (the machining department overhead, allocated to jobs based on actual machine hours, and the assembly department overhead, allocated to jobs based on actual direct manufacturing labor costs). The 2014 budget for the plant is as follows:
|
Machining Department |
Assembly Department |
|
|
Manufacturing overhead |
$1,800,000 |
$3,600,000 |
|
Direct manufacturing labor costs |
$1,400,000 |
$2,000,000 |
|
Direct manufacturing labor hours |
100,000 |
200,000 |
|
Machine-hours |
50,000 |
200,000 |
During February the job cost record for Job 494 contained the following:
|
Machining Department |
Assembly Department |
|
|
Direct materials used |
$45,000 |
$70,000 |
|
Direct manufacturing labor costs |
$14,000 |
$15,000 |
|
Direct manufacturing labor hours |
1,000 |
1,500 |
|
Machine-hours |
2,000 |
1,000 |
At the end of 2014 the actual manufacturing overhead costs were $2,100,000 in machining. Assume that 55,000 actual machine hours were used in machining.
Calculate the machining department overhead allocation rate and present your answer as $/allocation base State whether the overhead for the machining department is overallocated or underallocated
You must use the full word either underallocated or overallocated in your answer.

Mr. S, 70, was admitted to your medical-surgical unit 3 days ago with a diagnosis of pneumonia. He has a 1-week history of fever, chills, poor appetite, productive cough, and weakness. His past medical history includes being an ex-smoker (he quit 1 year ago, before that he smoked 2 packs a day for 40 years), hypertension controlled by one medication, no previous surgeries, and no allergies.
Yesterday, Mr. S had a cough and some pain with coughing, requiring 2 L of oxygen via nasal cannula to maintain his oxygen saturation at 98%. He was a bit confused, but his vital signs were within normal limits. When you go to introduce yourself and start your assessment today (day 3), you find he’s drowsy and lethargic, and he responds with one-word answers or grunts. You note that he’s using pursedlip breathing. You complete a set of vital signs and discover he’s febrile (100.2° F [37.9 C]), with a BP of 110/60; heart rate, 90 beats/ minute; respiratory rate, 24 breaths/minute; and oxygen saturation, 95% on 2 L of oxygen via nasal cannula.
