You manage the shipping of item #A452 from your supplier. The shipments for this item are delivered to the nearest port, and you have to transport them to the distribution center. You have two options, truck load (TL) and less than truck load (LTL).
Your company needs 5000 units of #A452 per year and it is purchased at a price of $36 per unit. Each order costs $90. Your company uses a holding charge of 0.1, a cycle service level of 90% and 365 days per year for planning purposes.
The truck load (TL) option costs $1200 per load. It takes 4 days to deliver and each truck can carry up to 1300 items.
The less than truck (LTL) load option costs $2.0 per item. It takes 6 days to deliver.
You have three options,
OPTION A: to use the TL option and delivery full truck loads,
OPTION B: to use the TL option and delivery the economic order quantity
OPTION C: to use LTL option and deliver the economic order quantity.
For all following parts, consider transportation costs as an item cost unless otherwise specified. i.e., the total variable cost of #A452 in the Full truckload is $1200/1300items + $36/item = $36.9230769231/item.
What is the sum of average pipeline and cycle inventory, ordering, and purchase costs for option A? Please provide your answers rounded to the closest dollar. (Please note that the answer is 184828, or near, is just i do not know how to compute it. Please kindly show your working here.)

As a computer and networking consultant to small businesses, you are frequently asked to find solutions to increasing demands for network and Internet access at a business. One business rents offices in a historical building that has strict rules for wiring. They have come to you asking for a solution for providing Wi-Fi access to their guests in the lobby of the building. Research options for a solution and answer the following questions: 1. Print or save webpages showing two options for a Wi-Fi wireless access point that can mount on the wall or ceiling. For one option, select a device that can receive its power by PoE from the network cable run to the device. For the other option, select a device that requires an electrical cable to the device as well as a network cable. 2. Print or save two webpages for a splitter that can be mounted near the second wireless access point that splits the power from data on the network cable. Make sure the power connectors for the splitter and the access point can work together. 3. To provide PoE from the electrical closet on the network cable to the wireless access point, print or save the webpage for an injector that injects power into a network cable. Make sure the voltage and wattage output for the injector are compatible with the needs of both wireless access points. 4. You estimate the distance for network cabling from the switch to the wireless access point is about 200 feet (61 meters). What is the cost of 200 feet of PVC CAT-6a cabling? For 200 feet of plenum CAT-6a cabling? For 200 feet of plenum CAT-7 cabling? 5. Of the options you researched, which option do you recommend? Using this option, what is the total cost of the Wi-Fi hotspot?

Serenity Spa Vacations Inc. (SSV) is a company that specializes in organizing tours of luxury health and wellness spas around the world. During the first four years of its business, SSV experienced modest growth. Just over a year ago, however, the company was featured in an exclusive travel magazine. This, coupled with excellent web reviews and favourable word of mouth, fuelled a period of exponential growth that continues to this day. As there are a number of other well-established companies that offer similar services, SSV’s management knows that to continue its success, it must expand its loyal customer base by providing exemplary service and tours while controlling costs. SSV’s accounting information system (AIS) currently consists of a purchased accounting software package that has only basic features and cannot be upgraded. It is supplemented by various spreadsheets used to track important information, including payroll, spa availability, bookings in progress, client preferences, and customer ratings of the wellness packages sold. SSV’s vice-president of operations understands that the company’s current AIS is woefully inadequate and must be replaced with one that permits management to better direct the organization’s activities. The vice-president has requested you, CPA, the company’s chief financial officer, investigate the options that are available and make a recommendation as to how to proceed. The vice-president stated that the criteria Intermediate Financial Reporting 1 Project 1 6 / 6 considered should include cost, reliability, ability to accommodate continuing growth, reducing duplicative data entry, functionality, and compatibility with online purchases by customers. You have eight people working for you in the accounting department in two locations and as such know that multi-user capabilities over a networked system are a must. You are well aware of the inadequacies of the current system and the issues they are causing, and have researched various possibilities. You have narrowed the choice down to three options as described below, all of which meet the criteria of compatibility, multi-user functionality, network capability, and reducing duplicative data entry. • Commercial package in the cloud (CPC) — SSV can arrange to access a widely used commercial software package for $2,750 per month based on an 18-month rental agreement. Your research suggests that the software package is very reliable, represents a significant improvement over SSV’s exiting AIS, and includes 100% of the identified “must haves” and about 60% of SSV’s “nice to haves.” Arranging access and uploading existing data take about two weeks. When a cloud-computing solution is used, expanding capacity is easily arranged at an additional cost. Moreover, as the host regularly upgrades the system on an ongoing basis, potential obsolescence isn’t a major factor. • Commercial package purchased (CPP) — SSV can purchase the software package described above for $90,000. Installation of the program and conversion of the existing program will take about six weeks. The expected useful life of the new software is four years. Expanding capacity at a later date is easily accommodated by adding an additional module at a relatively nominal cost. • Custom-built package (CBP) — You received two quotes from software engineers to custom build a system that meets all of SSV’s identified needs. The first engineer, who is very well known and has an excellent track record in building similar systems, quoted a price of $150,000. She suggests that the system will take about one year to build and install. The second engineer, who is new to the industry, promises delivery in six months at a firm cost of $80,000. The expected useful life of the custom-built software is four years. The system can be expanded at a later date; however, the expansion would have to be a customized solution, designed by a software engineer, at a cost that will likely be substantively higher than acquiring additional capacity for the CPP. Required: Use the CPA Way to assess this situation and make a recommendation to the vicepresident of operations of SSV.

(b) the total depletion layer width W and depletion into the n (Wn) and p (Wp) sides at zero bias
(c) the maximum electric field at zero bias

Golf-course designers have become concerned that old courses are becoming obsolete since new technology has given golfers the ability to hit the ball so far. Designers, therefore, have proposed that new golf courses need to be built expecting that the average golfer can hit the ball more than 235 yards on average. Suppose a random sample of 118 golfers be chosen so that their mean driving distance is 239.8 yards, with a standard deviation of 43.6. Conduct a hypothesis test where H0:μ=235 and H1:μ>235 by computing the following:
(a) test statistic?
(b) p-value?
(c) If this was a two-tailed test, then the p-value is?

Say I have and Array so MyArray starts off as S A Q W A R .... I want to sort the Array alphabetically using ascii codes to sort. However in Ascii code capital letters come first and then lower case letters are sorted after. My goal is to not only sort the array, but also make lowercase sorted in its proper place. I am using visual basics and I cant use a built in sorter that does it the easy way, I have to sort it somehow in visual basics. please help me learn how todo this! Will rate very highly, thanks so much!
