Because of staffing decisions, managers of the Gibson-Marimont Hotel are interested in the variability in the number of rooms occupied per day during a particular season of the year. A sample of 24 days of operation shows a sample mean of 294 rooms occupied per day and a sample standard deviation of 26 rooms.
What is the point estimate of the population variance? 676

I need to make an application that calculates the occupancy rate for a hotel with eight floors. The user will be asked how many rooms are occupied on each floor. The program will iterate for each floor. Users must enter numbers and the rooms occupied on each floor cannot exceed 30. The occupancy rate is the number of occupied rooms/ unnoccupied. The application also needs to display the occupancy for each individual floor aswell. Each floor has a maximum of 30 rooms. There are 240 rooms in total. The application doesn't need any fancy graphics just simple text. I'm really lost where to start. I know I need to use for loops and while but I'm not sure how to apply it. Can I get some help?
Python

Assume you are the general manager of a large hotel and have formulated a strategy of renting banquet facilities to organizations for big events. At a monthly management meeting, your sales manager informs the head of food operations that a big reception in one week will require converting a large hall from a meeting room to a banquet facility in 60 minutes...a difficult but an achievable operation that will require precise planning and extra help. The food operations manager is furious about not being informed earlier. What is wrong here? As the general manager what strategies will you put in place to resolve the issue?

Problem 1. Suppose you want to open an amusement park. Your estimate of the daily attendance is 1000 people. Further, you expect that each person will demand
x(p)= 50-50p rides, where p is the price per ride. All people are the same, and there cannot be negative rides. The marginal cost of a ride is zero.
(a) What is each person’s inverse demand for rides?
(b) How many rides per person will maximize your profits?
(c) What will be the profit-maximizing price per ride?
(d) What will be your profit per person?
(e) What is the Pareto efficient price per ride?
(f) How many rides will be purchased at the Pareto efficient price by a single person?
(g) Ho much consumer surplus per person will be generate at Pareto efficient price and quantity?
(h) If you decide to use a two-part tariff, what would be an admission fee and a price per ride for a single person?

ABC Hotel Limited (“ABCHL”) operates a small store selling spa oil. ABCHL sells each unit for $80. Variable costs per unit equal $40. Total fixed costs equal $460,000. ABCHL is currently selling 12,000 units per period. The management would like to earn net income of $80,000.
ABCHL considers whether a promotion campaign to be carried out in next year. The cost of the promotion campaign is $100,000. The expected increase in unit of sales is 20% and 30% if the selling price is $80 and $72 respectively.
(a) Compute:
(i) Contribution margin per unit in dollars.
(ii) Contribution margin percentage.
(iii) Break-even point in dollars.
(iv) Break-even in units.
(v) Sales units necessary to attain desired income of $80,000. (vi)
Margin of safety ratio for current operations.
(b) Should ABCHL carry out the promotion campaign in next year. Justify your answer by showing all relevant calculations.

1. Calculate the value of a preferred stock with a fixed annual dividend of $2.45, assuming a discount rate of 9.5%. Solve the problem two different ways: first by using the algebraic formula for a constant dividend preferred stock, then by using the built-in Excel function PV.

MATLAB:
Write a function called problem2 that takes an at most two-dimensional matrix A as its sole input. The function uses a while-loop to return the largest element of A. You are not allowed to use the built-in max function and you are also not allowed to use for-loops.
