Please use the skills you learned in section 9.2 for this assignment. For this activity, you will be creating a confidence interval for the average number of hours of TV watched. Last semester, my MAT 152 online students asked the question, “How many hours of screen time do you have in a typical week?” Please use the data they collected to answer the following questions. Data: 21, 2, 28, 30, 18, 21, 25, 20, 25, 14, 21, 25, 50, 39, 46, 20, 35, 45, 37, 46
Are there any outliers in this data set?
What calculator test (1-PropZInt, Z-Interval, or T-Interval), Excel, or StatCrunch function will you use to find the confidence interval?

Inventions become innovations when they are refined to such an
extent that they continue to
be successful in the market long after they were first invented.
This is directly adding
significant value to consumers such as adding new personalities and
characteristics to
products to suit and adapt to consumers’ ever-changing needs. The
ultimate objective of
innovation is to create sustainable growth that leads to a
competitive advantage. To bring
innovation into the market, companies need to conceive an invention
and create a value chain
around it.
Innovation is not only about being creative or inventing something
new. It is also about using
knowledge to solve problems. It is about adding value to our work
and this can result in a
better product or service. There are four basic types of innovation
which are basic, sustaining,
disruptive and breakthrough innovation.
Write an article to depict the four basic types of innovations
using ONE example for each
type of innovation. The article must consist of:
i. An introduction section to explain innovation and the basic
types of innovation.

Hypothesis testing
For this problem, collect data on any variables of interest (sample size for each group of the two groups n=>30) and perform a two-sided significance test for comparing two independent population means. You can also simulate your own data.

comparing two
independent population means.
You can also simulate your own data.
Address the following:
a.
A brief introductory paragraph describing the problem.
b.
Set up your framework in a null and alternative hypothesis using symbols and
notation as they are presented in the textbook.
c.
A paragraph describing how you collected the data (i.e., the number of observations,
time of day, etc.
Please present the raw data in a table.
d.
Create a graph of the
means
of the two samples
using Excel
. Clearly label your axes,
and give your figure a title.
e.
A section explaining the results of the analysis (calculated statistics, and p-values).
Based on what you find, state your decision (whether you reject or fail to reject the
H0
) and conclusion (whether you have sufficient or insufficient evidence for
H1
f.
Describe how would you change the experimental design to become

1) What is one method that researchers can use to find the structure of protein with atomic level resolution? Also mention its primary strengths and weakness.
2) Describe (in detail) an α helix or a β sheet.
3) What functional groups are on Lys-Arg-Glu and what is the pI?
4) As a biochemist, what is the value of using proteases like trypsin?

Thin (Discussion) The link to the Thin documentary is located on the Modules page. Provide complete responses to the following questions in your initial post. What are the key differences and similarities between Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa? Why might it be difficult for people to empathize with those diagnosed with eating disorders? Choose an individual from the documentary and explain how their symptoms match the symptoms of Anorexia or Bulimia. Be specific. Has your opinion of eating disorders changed after watching Thin? Be specific in explaining why or why not. Use specific examples from the documentary that taught you something new and/or supported what you already know. Based on what you have learned about the lives of the women in treatment in this documentary, what details of their lives seem to make their recoveries more difficult (or more promising)? Again, be specific. What do you think about the effectiveness of in-patient treatment programs for eating disorders based on what you saw in the documentary? What works, and what doesn't seem to work? What improvements should be made?

As an independent governmental agency, the Bank of Canada is in charge of implementing monetary policies to achieve its major objectives. What are those objectives, and what policy tools does the Bank exercise to meet them? Explain the transition mechanisms through which changes in policy variables affect the economy. (You are welcome to “chose” the state of the economy – slumping or fast growing with a threat of inflation, and progress your policy recommendations and analysis based on your scenario. You should mention how you understand contractionary/expansionary monetary policies, the tools in the hand of the Central Banks to use, methods (OMO, inflation targeting, interest rate setting, etc. as well as the channels those changes may impact the economic indicators such as GDP, unemployment and inflation. You do not need to discuss all possible transmission mechanisms channels, just stick with one that you think is the most plausible and develop your logic.)

The National Center for Education Statistics found that in 2015, 41% of students nationwide reported that their mothers had graduated from college. A superintendent randomly sampled 356 students from her local school district and found that 43% of them had mothers that graduated from college. Does her sample give evidence of a higher education level among mothers in her district? Use a significance level of ? = 0.05.
a) State the hypotheses in symbols.
b) Run the test and report the test statistic and p-value. Be sure to write out what you entered in your calculator.
c) Write a full conclusion for this test in the context of the problem (see #2b for format).
d) Find a 90% confidence interval for the proportion of students in the superintendent’s district that have mothers who graduated from college. Be sure to write out what you entered in your calculator.
e) Does this confidence interval support your conclusion in part (c)? Explain.

During the first half of the class, we've covered the sociological imagination in some detail. Also, we've covered some of the most important structural forces at work in each of our lives: race (Week 3); class (Week4); and gender and sexuality (Week 5). In this CAP assignment, I'd like you to think about how biography, social structure, and history have intersected in your life and culminated in the person you are today. Give me a sense of the biographical experiences that make up who you are, perhaps highlighting key individual moments in yours life. Additionally, show how these biographical experiences were nested within a certain social context (i.e. structure) and historical period. Most importantly: write critically and creatively and use your sociological imagination. For some guidance for how this all comes together, see my (informal) illustration in the Week #2 Lecture Notes and note how I analyze biography, social structure, and history.
