On 1 Jan. 2015, Miles Ltd. acquired a machine for $300,000 cash. The machine has an estimated useful life of 10 years with no residual value. On 31 December 2016, based on evidence that the machine was impaired, the company estimated the recoverable amount of the machine to be $200,000. On 31 December 2018, there was evidence for reversal of impairment of the machine and the recoverable amount on this date was $170,000. Assume there is no change in the useful life of the machine. Miles Ltd. measured its machines using the cost model and adopts straight-line depreciation for its machines.

Prepare all relevant entries relating to this machine for 2015 to 2018.

DESIGH A FLOWCHART IN FLOWGORITHM

Speeding Violation Calculator. Design a program that calculates and displays the number of miles per hour over the speed limit that a speeding driver was doing. The program should ask for the speed limit and the driver's speed.

Validate the input as follows:

The speed limit should be at least 20, but not greater than 70.

The driver's speed should be at least the value entered for the speed limit (otherwise the driver was not speeding) Once correct data has been entered, the program should calculate and display the number of miles per hour over the speed limit that the driver was doing.

PLEASE AND THANK YOU

Julia enjoys jogging. She has been jogging over a period of several years, during which time her physical condition has remained constantly good. Usually she jogs 2 miles per day. During the past year Julia recorded how long it took her to run 2 miles. She has a random sample of 95 of these times. For these 95 times the mean was 15.60 minutes and the standard deviation s=1.80 minutes. Find the margin of error (round to 2 decimal places) and the 90% confidence interval for Julia’s average running time.

Four of your friends are planning a morning of boating on the Big Blue River. Two of them plan to start at the Rocky Ford Campground at 9:00 AM and drift down the river with the current in kayaks. The other two plan to start at the parking lot near the US-24 bridge, at the same time as the first pair, and travel upstream in a square-stern canoe with an outboard motor. You own a pickup truck with a high wheelbase, and you are friendly with all the farmers and property owners in the area, so they ask you to pick up them and their boats at the time and place where they will meet. You agree.

You research this section of the Big Blue River and find the following conditions that morning:

Depth: 12.8 feet

Average width: 200 feet

Flow: 13800 ft3/s

Water speed: 8.1 ft/s = 5.5 miles/hr

Water temperature: 78.5 degF

You check a map and find that distance between Rocky Ford Campground and the US-24 bridge parking lot is 4 miles “as the crow flies,” or 8 miles along the river. Your friends with the square-stern canoe say it can travel 2 miles on a still lake in 15 minutes.

(1) At what time should you pick up your friends?

(2) Where should you pick up your friends? (Express this answer in terms of distance downstream from Rocky Ford or upstream from US-24.)

TropSun is a leading grower and distributer of fresh citrus products with three large citrus groves scattered around central Florida in the cities of Orlando, Eustis, and Winter Haven. TropSun currently has 275,000 bushels of citrus at the grove in Mt. Dora, 400,000 bushels at the groves in Eustis, and 300,000 bushels at the grove in Clermont. TropSun has citrus processing plants in Ocala, Orlando, and Leesburg with processing capabilities to handle 200,000, 600,000, and 225,000 bushels respectively. TropSun contracts with a local trucking company to transport its fruit from the groves to the processing plant. The trucking company charges a flat rate for each mile that each bushel of fruit must be transported. Each mile a bushel of fruit travels is known as a bushel-mile. The following table summarizes the distances (in miles) between the groves and processing plant.

Distance (in miles) Between Groves and Plants
Grove Ocala Orlando Leesburg
Mt. Dora 18 51 39
Eustis 34 33 20
Clermont 52 22 37

TropSun wants to determine how many bushels to ship from each grove to each processing plant to minimize the total number of bushel-miles the fruit must be ship. [ Another way to put it, MINIMIZE the TRANSPORTATION costs of the bushel-miles from the groves to the Plants] (30 Points) HINT: What decision variables can change.

1. Define the decision variables.

2. Define the Constraints

3. Implement and Solve the Problem in Excel

4. Analyze the Solution, what is it telling the decision maker?

C# programming

This application will calculate the speed of an interstellar spacecraft as it accelerates though our galaxy to explore the stars. The spacecraft is using a new engine technology that continues to accelerate over time with no limit, allowing the spacecraft to reach distant areas of the galaxy at record speed. The spacecraft starts out slowly, but for each day it accelerates, it will double the speed it has attained prior to that point. The spacecraft will accelerate from 0 MPD (Miles Per Day) at launch to 1000 MPD by the end of the first day, and will have covered 500 miles (average speed of (0 + 1000)/2= 500). At the end of day two, it will be up to 2000 MPD (double day one's speed), and will have covered 2000 miles total (the previous day’s 500 miles plus the new day’s average of (1000+2000)/2)). Create an app that allows the user to enter the number of days the spacecraft has been traveling and your app will use the formulae given, plus some looping code, to tell the user what the speed of the spacecraft is (in MPD) at the end of that day. Your app will also calculate the total distance traveled by the spacecraft to the end of that day (also done with the fomulae and some looping code). Create a form with the appropriate controls to get the user input and display the answers correctly. Ensure you do proper data validation so that any mistakes the user makes entering data do not crash the program or create/allow strange results

1. Economists have estimated that a 10 percent increase in the price of a pack of cigarettes results in a 4 percent decrease in the quantity of cigarettes demanded among the adult population. For teenagers, the same 10 percent price hike results in a 14 percent decrease in the quantity demanded.
a. What is the price elasticity of demand for cigarettes for the adult population?
b. Among teenagers, what is the price elasticity of demand?
c. Offer some reasons why the price elasticity is different among teenagers than among the population as a whole.

2. Suppose that each of the four corners of an intersection contains a gas station, and that consumers think that the different brands of gasoline are essentially same.
a. Do you think that the price elasticity of demand for each station’s gasoline is above or below 1.0? Explain your answer.
b. Do you think that the price elasticity of demand for each station’s gasoline is larger, smaller, or the same as the price elasticity of demand for gasoline in general in the United States? Explain your answer.
