Write multiple if statements:
If carYear is before 1967, print "Probably has few safety
features." (without quotes).
If after 1971, print "Probably has head rests.".
If after 1991, print "Probably has anti-lock brakes.".
If after 2002, print "Probably has airbags.".
End each phrase with period and newline. Ex: carYear = 1995
prints:
Probably has head rests. Probably has anti-lock brakes.

public static void main (String [] args) {
int carYear;
carYear = 1991;

Tyco International, the conglomerate whose former chief was convicted of looting the company, would pay $US50 million to settle accounting fraud charges, United States authorities said yesterday. The penalty was for an alleged $US1 billion overstatement of Tyco results between 1996 and 2002 in an accounting fraud "orchestrated at the highest levels of the company", the US Securities and Exchange Commission said. The lurid details of how former chief executive Dennis Kozlowski spent Tyco's money -on a $US2 million birthday party for his wife in Sardinia and a $US6000 shower curtain for his $US18 million Manhattan apartment, for instance - came to symbolise corporate excess during a time of scandals. Kozlowski was sentenced for stealing more than $US150 million from Tyco in a case that also led to the conviction of former chief financial officer Mark Swartz. The Bermuda-based Tyco said the $US50 million SEC settlement, the cost of which it had previously reported, closed the agency's probe of its former officials' accounting
practices. Tyco neither admitted nor denied wrongdoing, as is customary in SEC settlements. The SEC said Tyco inflated profit by at least $US500 million through improper accounting of some of the acquisitions it made from 1996 to 2002. Required: a. In this Tyco’s case highest level of company executives were involved in criminal activities and stole from the company. Suggest steps & guidelines to prevent unacceptable practices. b. Do you think management of company has an ethical and moral responsibility towards shareholders? Comment briefly.

This assignment uses data structures, selection, use, control structures, logic, computation, file I/O, etc. In C++
There should be 3 files for the project: theMain.cpp, dateClass.h, dateClass.cpp (or similar file names)
For input/output. Read at least 10 dates in a data file set up this way:
The first number is the number of data items in the file. Then after that, each row is one date in the format month day year.
here is a sample data file of 6 elements:
6
1 1 2016
12 31 2011
11 01 -5506
13 02 2002
2 31 2020
2 21 2015
the output would be:
1 1 2016 would be: 1/1/16, January 1, 2016 and 1 January 2016
12 31 2011 would be: 12/31/11, December 31, 2011 and 31 December 2011
11 01 -5506 is an unknown date
13 02 2002 is an unknown date
2 31 2020 is an unknown date
2 21 2015 would be: 2/13/15, February 21, 2015 and 13 February 2015
if you program the main program similar to the example below, the output will be close to the example in the textbook. (the example below does not use files or a loop to read data)
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
#include "dateClass.h"
using namespace std;
int main()
{
Date aDate(3,15,2016);
aDate.displayShort();
aDate.displayLong();
aDate.displayGlbl();
cout << endl;
system("pause");
return 0;
} //end main

Classical Mechanics:
A block of wood is projected up an inclined plane with initial speed V0. If the inclination of the plane is θ, and the coefficient of the sliding friction is μk,
a) Draw a force diagram and a free body diagram.
b) Choose the x and y coordinate system, and mark it on the free
body diagram.
c) Apply Newton's Second Law in the y-direction.
d) Apply Newton's Second Law in the x-direction.
e) Use parts c) and d) to find the time it takes to reach the
maximum height on the incline (use integrations, not kinematic
equations)
f) How would you calculate the total time for the block to return
to the point of projection?
Note: you don't have to solve for time, just provide the steps in point form and argue about the facts (i.e. direction of forces, boundary conditions, etc).

Hydrogen, acting as a van der Waals gas (EOS shown below), is compressed in an isothermal closed system process from 6.236m3/kg to 0.629m3/kg at 300K. What is the change in specific entropy of the gas? (use the entropy change relation in chapter 12)
P = RT/( v − b) − a/( v^2) (1)
a = 27R^2Tcrit^2/(64Pcrit) (2)
b = RTcrit/ (8Pcrit) (3)
Following example 12-7 in the book the change in internal energy of a van der Waals gas for an isothermal process can be derived (the result is shown below). Using the definition of boundary work (wb = R P dv) and conservation of energy what is the amount of heat which is rejected by the compression process?
u2 − u1 = a (1/v1 − 1/v2)

the contour (using solid lines)
and the characteristics (using dashed lines) of a two-dimensional
minimum-length nozzle for the
expansion of air to a design exit Mach number of 3. Assume the
specific heat ratio is 1.4. For
clarity, lay out the design using a schematic, number the
intersection points for the characteristics,
develop the calculations using a spread sheet and show the spread
sheet results for each point for
K-, K+, θ, υ, μ, Mach number, x and y for every point. Use at least
8 characteristics for the initial
expansion. Please turn in the following:
a. Your diagram
b. Your spreadsheet
c. Your spreadsheet results in tabular form
d. Your final scaled drawing of the nozzle characteristics and
nozzle wall boundary.

A vessel initially contains 5.0 kg of liquid water and 2.0 kg of ice at 0 C. Energy is added until the ice has just melted. The temperature at the boundary where heat transfer occurs is taken to be the system temperature during the process. The enthalpy of melting ice is 333.5 kJ/kg. Consider the following processes used to melt the ice.
a.) Heat is added to from the environment at 20 C. Determine the entropy flux and the total entropy generation, both in kJ/K.
b.) Heat is added from a reservoir at 727 C. Determine the same quantities as in part a.
c.) Paddle-wheel work is used to change the state. Determine the total entropy production for the process, in kJ/k.
d.) Comment on the relative degree of irreversibility for the three processes.

A parcel of land is proposed for residential house development. The land is situated beside a river and so flooding is suspected to occur. Outline how you would go about assessing if the land is subject to flooding.
If you assess that the land does flood, outline how you would go about determining the flood levels at the property. In this case the principal objective of the assessment is to determine the flood elevation in a 100 yr ARI flood along the boundary between the creek and the parcel of land. Specify only the methodology noting that you need not present the theoretical description of the proposed method. A step by step procedure on how the assessment will be undertaken is sufficient. Specify the data required to conduct the assessment and where you would source the data.
Your submission should be in point form and should not exceed one page.
